GRIGG, Garry Wallace
September 9, 1944 — May 30, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce that Garry Wallace Grigg passed away at the age of 80 on May 30, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Garry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia; his daughter Jolene and daughter Jennifer (Glen); grandson Austin (Natasha), and his granddaughter Sydney; and his great-grandson Harrison Kai. He is also survived by his sisters Mona Carter-Squire, Heather (Wayne) LaFournie, and Denise Grigg, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Garry was predeceased by his parents Wallace and Hilda Grigg; sister Joan Turner and baby brother Lance Grigg; brothers-in-law Wayne Boles and Duane Carter-Squire; and nephews Jeff and John Carter-Squire.
Garry was born in Souris, Manitoba and raised in Brandon, Manitoba. He moved his family to Kelowna in 1978, where he was in the painting and construction trade before purchasing Springfield Autobody, where he worked with his daughter Jolene before retiring.
Garry loved his family and was very proud of his daughters and devoted to his grandchildren. He was a very generous man who would help anyone. His passion was renovating and decorating and having coffee with friends. He loved travelling to Mexico and Arizona.
We wish to thank the staff at Hospice House for their care and compassion.
There will be a private family gathering later this summer.
To my dear family and friends:
Don’t remember me with sadness,
Don’t remember me with tears,
Remember me with laughter,
Remember all the laughter we’ve shared throughout the years,
Now I am contented that my life was worthwhile,
Knowing that as I passed along the way, I made someone smile,
When you are walking down the street, and you’ve got me on your mind,
I’m walking in your footsteps, only half a step behind.
So please don’t be unhappy just because I’m out of sight,
Remember that I’m with you each morning, noon, and night.

We will miss you Garry, especially the coffee & companionship we have shared over the years! To Pat, Jolene, Jennifer & family our hearts are with you.
I think I was 16 years old when I meet Gary and Pat. I went to Jens house when they lived on lake shore. I as well meet Joelean that first time. Everyone where already wearing their pajamas. Joelean in her onesies. My first impressions were “what a adorable family”. Already knowing Jen I quickly realized that Gary the head of the family was a very proud / friendly man. A family man, and being part of that families journey I look back with great respect and admiration. I remember the time in conversation with Gary that he said that he was very proud of his girls, Pat included no mater what they decided to do in life. And boy,,,, they never let each other down. I gifted him a very nice knife on one of his birthday celebrations/ gatherings. His patio lanterns and gentle breeze threw his beautiful landscaped yard was very welcoming and just one of many nights I forever cherish. Cheers to you Gary for such a beautiful long life, leaving so many memories for so many. See you on the other side.
Heartfelt condolences to the Grigg family, on the loss of Garry. He was a ‘straight shooter’, always ready to ‘help out’ when needed, and had an infectious sense of humor. Hold your memories close, Garry will be missed.

Our deepest sympathy to Pat & the Family. You are in our thoughts & prayers during this difficult time.
We met Pat & Garry when they moved into our condo bldg. We had the privilege of getting together for coffee & a visit at times. Garry was a caring, quiet sole with a beautiful smile. Garry was very willing to help out around the bldg, in his better days. We will certainly miss Garry. Rest in peace Garry.

Pat and family. So sorry about Garry’s passing. My ex husband Keith worked for Garry for a while, and I remember a lot of good times. I always missed Garry and Pat. May Garry RIP. And take care.
I was so saddened to hear about Garry: what a kind, thoughtful and caring man. He was a long-time friend of my family, and advised me and my Dad’ through life’s challenges. We will forever remember him with love. Our family is sending deepest condolences to Patricia , Jolene, Jennifer and families..
I’ve known Garry for 65 years. His sister Mona was married to my brother Duane. I worked for and with Gary for a lot of years. So many memories…..!
I tried hard to make this short but it’s hard when Garry meant so much to so many people.
Hard work, but lots & lots of laughs! We could sometimes coax Garry to take out his false teeth. We’d be laughing so hard he couldn’t get them back in…..meaning we’d be laughing even harder!…and his whistle…O M G!.
Garry was an artist at everything he did. Be it carpentry, painting, business. He could do it all and so well.
Miss you my friend and I wish there was another 65 years more to share!
love Joe
To Pat, Jennifer, Jolene and the whole family we share in the sadness of your great loss.
He is leaving a big void in all our hearts. The wonderful memories we all shared will continue to brighten our days just like his kindness, generosity and wonderful sense of humor has done, up to now.
Much love to you all,
Helene and Yvette
Our condolences to Pat and the rest of the Grigg family! As I grew up across the lane from Garry he was like part of our family! He had a great sense of humor and was a real craftsman at whatever he worked at in his life. I admired his drive and vision at taking on new challenges and ultimately succeeding in his new challenges!
