We Remember
GULEVICH, Walter
—
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Walter Gulevich on December 4, 2017. He was predeceased by his wife Joyce.
Walter was born in Mundare AB in 1933. In 1952 Walter met his wife to be, Joyce Batiuk, married in 1954 and they began their family in 1955. Walter and Joyce lived on a farm near Mundare AB, moving to Edmonton AB, Prince George BC, Peachland BC and finally, Walter settling by himself in Sidney BC in 2015. Walter was a very devoted husband and father. Along with being patient, he would place others’ needs before his own.
Walter is survived by his loving children: David (wife Joanne), Donald (wife Joanne), Valerie (husband Scott), Denise (husband Ken), Glen (wife Cynthia); grandchildren: Amanda, Dana, Todd, Brett, Lindsey, Ashley, Andrew, Levi, Bethany, Israel, Curtis, Spencer; great grandchildren: Alexa, Ewan, Audra, Grace, Mason and his sister Vicki (husband Jim).
We would like to say a very special thank you to staff and friends at the Shoal Independent Living Centre, where he lived for the past two years. Life became exciting again with new found friends and activities filling each and every day. Rumor has it, he even attempted singing ONCE, the family publicly apologizes for that.

Lorne and I send our deepest sympathy to the family. We know you loved your Dad immensely. He will be missed. Our prayers are with you all.
Sending our love and prayers to each of you . We know how you loved your Dad.
We were so sorry to hear that Walter had passed. Walter was a very good man, husband, father and I am sure “dido”……he cared for his family very deeply.
God Bless his soul…..he is with Joyce
Walter was a wonderful man: humble, thoughtful and generous. I can’t go out on the deck or into my laundry room without thinking of your dad. He was always leaving bags of cucumbers and apricots on our deck, unannounced. Where there is now a “good neighbour” fence there was once nothing. Rob and Walter didn’t think good neighbours needed fences so they tore down the fence that once separated the two properties. Walter built the heavy duty cupboards in my laundry room, and I’m not sure he ever let us pay for them. He also drove us to the airport and picked us up, no matter how early or late the occasion required. Rob and I were very blessed to have Walter and Joyce as neighbours for so many years. We missed him when he moved to Victoria, and I’m sad to know he’s gone now.
My deepest sympathy to Walter’s family . May your faith & fond memories of him be with you at this time & always .
My love & prayers are with you all .
Our deepest sympathy to you all. I remember Walter growing up, he was always kind and took the time to talk. Lots of great memories of the family and friendship. Rest in peace, you are in our thoughts. Michael Dutka & Family
