I have good memories of the four nights Richard and I stayed with Uncle Ron and Aunt Nora during Expo 86, when they stayed overnight with me a couple of years later, and coffee and laundry with them in Fall 1989.
We are sorry we can’t be there Saturday.
May he rest in peace. God be with you till we meet again.
So sorry to hear of Mr. Gunson’s passing. I have so many happy memories from the early teenage years spending time with Mr. and Mrs.Gunson, Joan, Dan, Linda, Patty and Ray. He will be missed for his sense of humour for all those who knew him. Sincere sympathy to the whole family.
I cannot say how sorry I was to hear of Ron’s passing. I always admired his accomplishments he achieved in life, and will always respect the fact he fought for his country during World War II. His memory will continue to live on and never be forgotten by future generations of the family. I’m comforted by the fact that he is reunited with his parents, brothers and his son he lost too soon.
I extend my deepest sympathy on your loss. Ron will be truly missed. Love Margaret Wonneck
We would like to express our sorrow and condolences on the loss of Uncle Ronnie. Love Ron and Beth Wonneck and family.
We were very sorry to hear of Ron’s sudden passing. We always enjoyed his company. He was very friendly and had a great sense of humor. He will be missed at Missionwood.
Our deepest sympathies to Joan, Dan, Linda and Pat and your families. We will always treasure our memories of Uncle Ron. He had a wonderful sense of humour and incredible love and devotion to Aunt Nora and his family. We are sorry we will not be able to be there on Saturday but are grateful that we were able to have a visit this summer. He will be greatly missed. Love, Eric and Wendy Allen and family.
Uncle Ron was one of the most interesting people I have ever met. Always enjoyed our visits and will never forget his sense of humor and kind heart. We too respect the fact that he fought for his country in World War II and on one of our visits learned the family history of Gunson Lake in Manitoba (if we remember the story correctly, it was named after his brothers who also served in WWII). I have many fond memories of the “Gunson” visits to our farm in southern Manitoba. It was always something to look forward too. To their most loved and talked about kids and grandchildren whom Uncle Ron was so proud of, we will be thinking of all of you on Saturday. Thank you Uncle Ron for the time you spent with us.
My sincere sympathies at losing your dear Dad. I will always remember so many wonderful visits and trips we shared together with Ron and Nora. He will be missed. Love, Elsie Reimer
Your father will truly be missed. He was loved by all of us and he will be cherished in our memories forever.
It is with mixed feelings that we heard of Ron’s passing. Our heats go out to the family. I (Eric ) have so many memories of the times growing in close proximity to the Gunson family. My Dad and Ron were close friends during the years he lived in Winnipeg as well as fellow co-workers at CP Rail. As a child I spent many times over at their home . We shared many meals and fun times. It was during these times that I learned to appreciate Ron’s sense of humour. He was also a good host. After he and his family moved the times together were limited to a few visits spread over the years. I remember the year Dad took our family to visit the Gunsons in their North Surrey home in 1966. Their hospitality was awesome. They had a large yard and had some chickens, which we all rounded up to slaughter. I can remember learning how to clean the feathers off as he showed us kids how. Nora then taught us how to clean the “inners” from the birds. I also remember that Dad and I visited at them at Easter in 1965, going by the Dominion train. Ron during that time again showed his wonderful humour. He also introduced us to the wonders of the mountains, the city of Vancouver and the wonderful flowers of the many gardens in the area. He is truly missed by all the Anderson that knew him. Mom (June), me & Henna, Ken (Nicole) Evelyn, Lynn, and all our children. You had a good life so may you rest in peace until we meet again in Glory.
