We Remember
HAASE, Lloyd Arthur
—
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Lloyd Arthur Haase on August 12, 2012 in his 74th year. Beloved husband to Mable Haase and dear father to Trent (Danusia) and Carmen (Charly), proud grandfather to Konrad, Kamila, Stefania, Elissa, Emma, Anika and Matthias, brother to Melvyn (Elaine) and Greg (Val) and uncle to several nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed by all. Lloyd worked most of his career at Ontario Hydro in various capacities, eventually becoming Manager of International Projects. Lloyd’s sense of humour and enthusiasm for life endeared him to a wide circle of friends with whom he enjoyed travel, golf, photography, good food and wine. There will be a private cremation. A celebration of life will be held at Sunset Ranch Golf Club, 5101 Upper Booth Road, Kelowna, BC on Sunday, August 19th at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, #4 – 1551 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna, BC V1Y 9M9 or charity of your choice.

This is way to sudden and we are deeply saddened … thinking about Mable, Carmen, Trent, Greg, Melvin, and their families along with all the other family and friends from around the world … we did not take the time to find this old car (picture of Lloyd and the 1963 Galaxy XL)!
Dear Mable and your wonderful family:

Dear Mable, Carmen, Trent and family members,
We are so shocked by the events this week and still can’t imagine a world without Lloyd. The many good times shared through the Hydro family, Horseshoe Valley days and NBVD time, etc. have been so memorable. At the Horseshoe men’s night this week, Al was asked to give a tribute to Lloyd and glasses were raised in a toast to a man who loved life, his friends and especially his family. We only wish we could be with you this Sunday and our hearts are with you. Cheers to you Lloyd.
Love and condolences
Sue and Al Stanbury, Horseshoe Valley, On.
Dear Mable and family,
It is with great sadness we write our condolences following the death of our dear friend Lloyd. Looking back over the last 45 years it is amazing the number of times the Pender/Haases lives have intertwined. Starting when you and Lloyd welcomed the recently arrived and sometimes lonely immigrant Scottish family into your home on Steele Street in Barrie, to our getting together at Krols on June 10 this year. We shared good times camping on Beausoleil Island, traveling adventures in Nigeria and Egypt, climbing Squaw Peak in Phoenix and our more recent get togethers with the old Barrie P&C gang during your annual trips East.
Mike appreciated Lloyd’s companionship as a colleague, boss and as a mentor and inspirational role model during his time with Ontario Hydro. Lloyd was an engineer’s engineer and most admired by all those whose path he touched during his time with Hydro.
While we will not be with you physically on Sunday, we will be with you spiritually at your Remembrance celebration of Lloyd’s life.
We will keep in touch.
Mike, Mary and family.

Dear Mable and family,
We were shocked and saddened to hear this news.Lloyd was a gentle gentleman and a man of great integrity. During our time together in NBV he was a pleasure to work for. And he was well able to mix work with play. I remember fondly our “tower spotting” outings. (“tower spotting” was Lloyd’s euphemism for a weekday afternoon on the golf course)
Goodbye old friend and may you rest in peace

Fond memories.
Dear Mable and family:
This morning, I had coffee with Fred Benzequen and learned of Lloyd’s untimely passing.
Lloyd introduced me to New Business Ventures/OHI and he was my boss for my six year stint with the group. I could not have asked for a better mentor. He was an absolute joy to work for. It’s been nineteen years since we all departed OHI but I have frequently thought of Lloyd and the great times our little unit had.
Mable, we are so sorry to hear that Lloyd has left us. Warmest regards to you and the whole family.
Tom & Irene
Dear Mable & Family,
Our sincere sympathies and prayers are with you and your family. Lloyd was a great inspiration at Ontario Hydro (OHI/NBV)and we’ll always be thankful for his tremendous support and friendship. We fondly remember the get-togethers and Lloyd’s great sense of humour. We hope you’ll find comfort in your family and friends both near and far during this difficult time.
God bless. Jo & Wayne
Mable we were very sorry to hear about Lloyd. I also go to the Central Okanagan Photographic Society, and I know that all of us will miss Lloyd so much. He had a beautiful smile, a peace about him, and he was a true gentleman. He was a great photographer too. I wish you and your family, ‘all the best’ as you deal with this difficult time of your lives. My thoughts and prayers are with you…Sandi Stang
