HANSEN LOPERT, Anthony “Tony “
July 15, 1984 — February 2, 2025
Anthony, born Lester Anthony Hansen Lopert on July 15, 1984, passed away unexpectedly in Kelowna, BC, on February 2, 2025, aged 40. Known also as ‘Tony’, Anthony was born in Vancouver, BC, and grew up in Prince George, BC – the traditional territory of Lheidli T’enneh, and in Maple Ridge, BC – Katzie and Kwantlen territory. He grew up among his family including our late mother Monika, late grandparents, aunt Gabriella, and brother James. His matrilineal lineage is Indigenous Australian, and his father’s name is David Hansen.
As a child, Anthony enjoyed martial arts and played the violin. He attended St. Mary’s elementary school in Prince George. In the summers, he went boating and camping with his grandparents on lakes and throughout the beautiful west coast.
As an adult, Anthony went on to live in Kelowna and completed training to become a Red Seal professional cook. He then completed a Welding Certificate at Okanagan College in 2010. He worked as a welder, crafting beautifully with his hands. He enjoyed waterskiing, ATV-ing, and BBQ’s with friends.
Anthony has one daughter, Neveah, who was born in 2012. He is also survived by siblings James Hansen Lopert, Jenaye Denommé, Danica Denommé, Joey McDonaldl; and nieces and nephews Soleilla Denommé, Toph Denommé Sime, Dane Malakai Takunda Banfield York, Jasmine Kerri Hansen, and Darren Leo Ian Hydrochuk; aunt Gabriella Kiser; cousins Dylan and Justin Kiser. He was predeceased by his mother, Monika Elizabeth Lopert, and grandparents, Stefan & Maria Magdalena Lopert.
Gone too soon, we miss your presence, and we entrust your spirit to the everlasting peace of the Creator. May you rest in the hearts and mind of all those who love you.

A Viewing and Ceremony will take place on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 1:00 PM, in Kelowna.
A Graveside Memorial Service and interment will take place in March 2025 at Maple Ridge Cemetery.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Anthony. I met him in 1998 the year before grade 8 and he was such a special soul. He will be greatly missed.
