We Remember

HANSON, Lonnie Wallace

October 29, 1957 — September 25, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of Lonnie Wallace Hanson, who passed away on September 25, 2023, in Kelowna, British Columbia, at the age of 65.

Lonnie goes to join those who went before him, including his parents Gustav and Marjorie; brother Rick; and sister Linda. He is held dear in the hearts of his former spouse, Brenda; his children Jody, Michael, and Christina; grandchildren Darbi, Dawsen, Devyn, Noah, Maybelle, Erika, and Lilly; as well as his siblings Carol, Gordon, and Bonnie.

Lonnie was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on October 29, 1957, and later moved to Edmonton, Alberta, where he was raised alongside his parents and five siblings. In 2012, Lonnie made the move to Kelowna, British Columbia, where he made his home. He had a love for music and guitar; fishing and being on the water; and was a talented builder with a true skill for anything mechanical. Most notably, Lonnie’s love for his children and family was above all else in his life. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by those whose lives he touched.

Family and friends will each be honouring Lonnie in their own way. No formal service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Freedom’s Door Kelowna.
