We Remember
HARRIS, Leonora Alice
January 4, 1926 — January 27, 2020
It is with heartfelt sadness our family announces the passing of Leonora Harris at the inspiring age of 94 years old.
Leonora enjoyed a healthy and eventful life that consisted of decades of glorious travel to her home away from home in Maui. Leonora’s love for sewing, baking and gardening were skills of hers that her family so greatly adored. Her loving soul for her husband, stepchildren, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will be remembered forever.
Leonora had great wisdom, a quick wit and an appreciated sense of humor. Her genuine laugh, precious eye rolls and headshakes were customary to much family banter and discussions. She relished in opening her home to everyone, family and friends alike, to enjoy a beautiful swim in her prized pool and yard. Family barbeques, Christmas dinners and a good full bowl of her famous “shipwreck” will forever be etched in everyone’s hearts.
Leonora had a love of the Arts; she attended many plays, dance recitals and grandchildren’s hockey games. She was always up for a good day of shopping, enjoying the beaches in Maui or just family time by her pool. Leonora enjoyed a great meal and good laugh and appreciated everyone in her life. She prided herself on her family and endlessly loved and cared for her husband Bill.
Leonora leaves all of her family and friends in rich memories. Her strength, determination and positive attitude will be fondly remembered.
Leonora is survived by her best friend and love of her life, William “Bill” Harris; her sister Pat Petersen; her four stepchildren Brad (Gail), Karen (Doug), Brian (Rose) and Barry; her seven grandchildren Joanna, Corey, Bobbi, Robbie, Michelle, Amanda and Mitchell; her five great-grandchildren Ava, Savannah, Slade, Wyatt and Blake; along with many of her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and many lifelong friends. Leonora is predeceased by her parents, Charlie and Alice Endersby and three brothers, Chuck, Bill and Donny.
No funeral will be held but a private family gathering will be planned for a later date.

Our mother has great memories of her and their good times together. Charleen and I have wonderful memories of her from our childhood through to our adult lives.
Charleen had great times with her and Uncle Bill over the years in Maui.
She will be missed and forever in our hearts.

Dear Family so sorry to hear about Leonora passing. We live on Maui and had many good times. This was taken at our home .
We enjoyed Leonora and Bill so much. This picture was taken at our home on February 4 2017.
I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Aunt Leonora. My heart goes out to all the family at this difficult time.
I remember spending countless weekends at the house on Panorama Ridge. Uncle Don Orton and Aunt Lenora were building the house and my family was there every weekend helping out.
Aunt Leonora and I would run errands in her TR3 with their dog, Revel, a Rhodesian ridgeback scared of its own shadow. Aunt Leonora would buy us ice cream (for the dog too). She would pick up treats for those working at the house, special store bought pastries, stuff I never got at home.
Then sadly Uncle Don passed away, the unthinkable, poor Aunt Leonora. But then in time something wonderful and unexpected happened, she met Uncle Bill. This larger than life guy who she adored, hell (or as Uncle Bill would say bloody hell) we all liked him. I got four more cousins out of the deal, which was great.
My friends and I spent many weekends down at the house swimming, so generous of them always inviting us down to swim.
I last saw Aunt Leonora last April at their new home in West Kelowna. Mom (Pat Peterson) and I dropped in for a visit. It was great to see Aunt Lenora and Uncle Bill. So glad we made the effort, as life is short.
Aunt Leonora will be missed. ❤️
Our hearts are broken for our friend Leonora she was an angel lots of fun and a gift to her friends and family. She will be forever in our hearts. God bless Bill and family in their time of sorrow.
