We Remember

HAWRYLUK, Bradly (aka 2 Time Da Slaya)
February 11, 1990 — February 21, 2025
The family of Bradly “2 Time Da Slaya” Hawryluk are beyond heartbroken to announce that, at the age of 35, Bradly passed away on February 21, 2025, in Kelowna, BC. He fought for 71 days in the Kelowna General Hospital (KGH), trying to come back from pneumonia and heart failure. In the end, his spirit was still strong, but his heart couldn’t keep his body going any longer. He was surrounded by love and his mom was right beside him, holding his hand. He has gone to join his grandmother, Joyce Meyer.
Born on February 11, 1990, in Edmonton, AB, Brad was raised by his mom & dad, Holly & Gordie, in Kelowna, BC. Brad will also be dearly missed by his brothers, Mathyus and CJ; his grandfather Gerry; and his beloved son Eli.
Eli was Bradly’s bright light and his #1 love (along with Brad’s mom, of course!) but, that was the way Brad was. He was a “a ride or die” person, not with just one person, not just for Eli and Holly – if you had his back he had yours. In fact, even if you didn’t have his back, he still had yours, that is who Brad was.
Brad worked in construction to pay the bills, but his passion and expression was his music. Musician, rapper, director/producer – music was in his blood, he found this passion at the young age of 14 and by 15 (with the help and support of his mom) he had his first show. His music is still on YouTube under his alias 2 Time Da Slaya, and it is a part of him that lives on, always.
Like all of us, he had ups and downs, and he wasn’t a stranger to depression and anxiety – but he was a fighter against the darkness. Ever the comedian, he loved to make people laugh and have a good time, he was helpful, kind, and selfless, many who were on the streets, experienced his help in a tangible way.
With gratitude, the family would like to thank the doctors and the staff at the KGH. Thank you to the doctors who helped in his care including Dr Mackenzie-Feder, Dr Troganowski, Dr Chaubey, Dr Wierstra, Dr Foster, Dr White, and Dr Beck who are in the cardiac ICU. Not just the doctors but also the Occupational Therapists, Dietitians, Nurses, and Janitorial Staff in his ward are all appreciated as well. And, thank you to his social workers Rajanpreet Shinger and Nicola King, who help in so many ways. Lastly, the family would like to give a big shout-out to “music family” the people who he was free with and who were “his people”, music was where Bradly was himself, and we are ever grateful you were there to support him.
