When I remember Meta I think of her gentle kind spirit and love of family. Of course this was always predicated by her love and devotion to her Lord. Sincere condolences to her loving family who I know are rejoicing in Meta’s Home going.
Tante Meta I remember was always kind and spoke in gentle ways. I enjoyed our visits which were not frequent enough. Here are some pictures from years past.
Going to Tante Meta’s was always fun as a kid. She was always so loving and gracious and made the most amazing cakes. Then, visiting in Vernon was also a highlight, the few times we could do that. She took care of Oma (Lydia) who lived to 90. A story Tante Meta told us, in the Vernon nursing home, a male resident was teasing Oma that her juice was actually Schnapps. Oma made a face and retorted, “bloß wasser”.
Sorry to hear about the passing of Meta Helwing. We want to send our condolences to the family. We know that Meta is now with the Lord but she will be missed by those who loved her. May you all feel the love of God as your grieve her loss. Paul and Janneke
