We Remember
HOBBS, Audrey Clare (née Hill)
March 12, 1927 — March 1, 2015
Audrey passed away peacefully in Kelowna after a short battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, John, her three children Brian, Sandra, Sean and relatives in Ontario. Audrey was born in Hamilton, Ontario and enjoyed a happy childhood filled with music and figure skating. She earned her A.R.C.T. degree from the University of Toronto in solo piano performance in 1949. She married John Edward Hobbs in 1951 and the rest of her life was devoted to her family. She was a military spouse for 15 years in Canada and England before settling in British Columbia, building her home in Coquitlam and her beloved cottage on Okanagan Lake. All who knew Audrey will miss her unfailingly kind and gentle nature. Special thanks to the medical professionals at the BC Cancer Agency Centre for the Southern Interior and to the wonderful staff at Three Links Manor for the care provided during Audrey’s final days. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday March 11th, 2015, at Springfield Funeral Home in Kelowna BC. Interment to follow at a later date. Your Mom had a great smile and laugh. I remember last Thanksgiving us “girls” sat around your dinner table talking about all the crazy fun times at Fintry. Good food, good friends, truly a loss in our Fintry circle of friends. Thinking of you all. The Fintry Bells
Dear Sandra, We are so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom…both Carol and I understand how difficult it is to lose a parent. You are in our thoughts at this difficult time. We look forward to seeing you back at the pool. Sincerely, Carol and Jackie
