We Remember

HOISINGTON, Lorne

March 24, 1927 — October 20, 2021

Lorne went to be with the Lord on October 20, 2021, at the age of 94.

Lorne lived in the lower mainland before moving to Oliver for his retirement, coming to the Okanagan 25 years ago.

He was known as a Ballplayer who played until he was 86, his latest adventure playing seniors slow pitch.

He loved his family. He was an awesome husband, a reliable father, and a “great” grandfather.

Lorne is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Ruby; his children Lorna (Jim) Oke, Lindabell (Robert) Johnson, Johnny (Richelle), Debra Hoisington, and Terry (Gabriella) Hoisington; his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his brother Robert Hoisington, sister Verla Bubon; as well as his extended family.

Lorne was predeceased by his siblings George, Dillon, Howard, Chuck, Rueben, May, and Gladys.

There will be a Memorial Service on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2021, AT 1:30 PM (PDT), AT EVANGEL CHURCH, at 3261 Gordon Dr, Kelowna, BC with Pastor Gordon Warinner Officiating. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
