We Remember
HOLLOWAY, William “Bill”
January 1, 1970 — January 1, 1970
It is with great sadness we say goodbye to our dear Bill. He was born and raised in Calgary, AB and retired in Kelowna, BC. A man of many talents, Bill worked in the automotive parts industry his whole life. He started working at a parts counter and eventually founded his own company. Bill always enjoyed a good sense of humour and a hearty debate. He was totally fascinated with the aviation industry. Bill leaves behind his wife of forty years, Diane; his son Darren; sister Helen; brothers Rick, Ed, Kal and Rob; as well as many loved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Harold, and mother, Fran; and his brother Johnny and sister Sharon. A very special thank-you to Dr. Marie Michaud, Dr. Graeme McCauley, Joelle Wall, and Jack Huisman. We will miss you always. As per Bill’s request there will be no service. If you wish to send a condolence, post photos or share a memory, please scroll down the page to the area called “Condolences”.
I was so sad to learn of Bill’s passing in the Calgary Herald this morning. But I am also so glad that I got a chance to chat with Bill a few months back. It will be a memory I will always treasure. My sincere condolences to Diane and the Holloway family.
Diane , We are sadden by Bill’s dying and were so pleased to have finally got to Kelowna to see you both back in 2016.
That was a special memory for us.
Last night I said something and Liz said Diane and I were right , you and Bill can get so right ! at times, something to do with getting the TV working again.
Blessings to you and your family
We did send a sympathy card in the mail a few days ago but CP can take awhile
I was unable to send flowers from Barbados so I hope this gives you some joy and smell..
Love Rob and Liz

I am so sorry, Dianne, but it was nice he went in his sleep. Bless you.
Diane and Darren; Please accept my heartfelt condolences. I am slow with technology, however, my Wife Cindy just learned through Facebook that Bill, a close family friend, had passed. Bill always brought levity and humour to our traditional and sometimes stoic family and I will always remember our skiing and camping trips, learning to ride a motorcycle and how to play racquetball. I can go on and on but will close by saying, “thank you Bill for all the awesome memories!!”
Dear Diane, so sorry for your loss, thinking of you at this difficult time. See you soon …hugs!
Our heartfelt condolences to the entire family. Bill was the patriarch of the Grant clan – he will be missed. God bless. Angelica and Barry Devlin

Diane & family,
During the 80’s and 90’s I very much enjoyed when Bill made a sales call on my colleagues and I. Bill had a very unique outlook and would always entertain us!
Bill was one of those automotive aftermarket characters that made our industry so entertaining and enjoyable.
The mould shall be broken.
RIP Bill.

Diane…..I was sad to read of Bill’s passing in the Calgary Herald. Though it;s been many years since our paths crossed, I have very great memories of our time as new neighbor’s in Cedarbrae, which turned into a great friendship. Bill’s sarcastic sense of humor from the first time I met you both has always brought back a smile to me. His countless hours building his RC planes, helicopters only to have them crash on their maiden flights. Great memories of you both! My sincere condolences to you, Darren, and the rest of your family.

So sorry to hear this news. Bill held a special place with our family and was a loyal friend to my parents which I will always appreciate. He always brought a smile to mum’s face. A good man–one of the best with a heart of gold under that laugh a minute exterior. Bill…you are legend. Ride that motorbike in the sky with your four-legged friend in tandem. xx
Dear Diane, our thoughts are with you. We are only a call away.
Diane,
It was with much sadness to learn of Bill’s passing in the Calgary Herald. Bill’s sarcastic sense of humor was evident from the first time I met him. We had many good years as neighbors and friends in our Cedarbrae duplex. The countless hours Bill would spend building his RC airplanes and helicopters, only to have them demolished on their maiden flights. Great memories of you both. My heartfelt sympathy to Darren, and to the rest of the family..

Diane/Darren;
My sincere condolences to you and the family on the occasion of Bill’s passing . There is no question that with his spirit and tenacity his energy is working somewhere in the universe. From Bill I learned early in life about optimism and stamina. He gave me one of my first babysitting jobs and the pay and tips were great. At 2:30 in the morning one had to be optimistic that he was coming home at all. By 4am I had to have the stamina to stay awake!
It has been about 55 years since so those babysitting days but they feel like yesterday.
His big personality will be a loss to all of those he touched on earth.
