We Remember

HOREN, Brad

It is with extreme sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Brad Horen on Sunday, March 6, 2016. He was a great husband, father, son and brother who we are profoundly proud of.  He is survived by his loving wife Junko; daughters Hana and Ana; mother Barb; sister Deb; and is predeceased by his father Jim.  From Sous Chef to Executive Chef, Brad earned his place as one of BC’s most talented Chefs.  He was a successful Chef of the Year, Iron Chef competitor, multi-medalist at the Culinary Olympics, winner of countless awards and a multi-year Captain of the Canadian Culinary Team.  He served former presidents, famous hockey players and the corporate world’s elite.  The family is grateful to the dedicated and caring Hospice House staff. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Central Okanagan Hospice Association, http://www.hospicecoha.org/donate-coha, would be appreciated. A celebration of Brad’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 23rd from 2pm-5pm at Manteo Resort Waterfront Hotel & Villas.  We welcome family, friends & colleagues to come share memories and celebrate his life.

Condolences

  • Rolf Knecht says:

Dear Horen family, I saw the news today and wanted to take a moment to reach out to you. It has been a while since we last met at the Shaw conference center but both of you, Junko and Brad, have been a inspiration to me. I have followed your careers from afar and was so humbled by Brads passion and dedication. May god bless his souls and give you all much strength. I have made a donation but please do reach out to me if there is anything else I can do to support you in this difficult time.
