We Remember

Anne Hugel, 88, passed away peacefully, with her friend Ursula by her side, at Village at Mill Creek in Kelowna, BC on November 14, 2021.

Born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, Anne lived in Germany after WW II from 1945 until 1952. In 1953, she immigrated to Winnipeg, MB, Canada. There, she made her home until she retired in 1996; she then moved to Kelowna, BC.

Unfortunately, in 2013, Anne developed dementia and had to move into care at the Village at Mill Creek. We wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to the amazing and caring staff for the excellent care Anne received while she was there. Despite her declining health, due to her friendliness and kindness, she was well liked in her new community at the care facility for the past 9 years.

At Anne’s request there will be no formal service, her friends will honour her, each in their own way.
