We Remember
HURLEY, Glenn Edwin
February 12, 1959 — November 8, 2017
It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Glenn Hurley following open heart surgery. Surrounded by his family, he could not sustain so many hours of surgery.
Predeceased by his father Robert E. Hurley in 2008.
Glenn is survived by his loving mother Helen Hurley of Kelowna, BC; daughters: Cyndee, Carryn, Coralee and Nicole; sister Norma Jean Hurley of Kelowna, BC; brothers Robert (Laura) Hurley of Lumby, BC and Ken Williams of North Vancouver, BC; 6 grandchildren.
Glenn grew up in Burnaby and was a skilled hockey player from the age of 11; winning the defense trophy the first year out.
Glenn was a respected commercial driver throughout BC for over 35 years. Glenn loved the coming of spring and summer; he enjoyed camping, fishing and playing golf with his buddies.
“Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never, ever the same”
It was Glenn’s wish to be cremated and laid to rest beside his father. Interment and Celebration of Life, officiated by Pastor Gary Swaby, will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at the Lillooet Cemetery. Reception to follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church hall, 1116 Main Street, Lillooet, BC.

It was with great sadness that I learned of Glenn’s passing. Glenn was a very special person, who I always looked forward to seeing. His smile and manner of speaking always made me feel better. He was very generous and kind and helped me in ways that few others would. I will miss Glenn very much.
Sincere condolences to the entire Hurley family from old Hood Friends, from Gilpin Street, Debbie, Kevin, Todd and Mary Isaacson. We are so sorry to hear of your loss. (Norma, when you are up to it, can you contact me? thanks, Debbie)
So sad to hear, my condolences to Glenn’s family. I grew up with Glenn in Burnaby and remember him as being a kind, wonderful person. A great loss to us all.
