We Remember
IACONELLI, Elisa
—
With hearts full of faith and gratitude, the family of Elisa Iaconelli announces her peaceful passing into the arms of Our Lord on August 14, 2026, in Kelowna, British Columbia, at the age of 90. Born on September 30, 1935, Elisa lived a long and faithful life, and we take comfort in knowing she has been welcomed home to eternal rest.
Elisa immigrated to Canada at the age of 20, carrying with her the warmth, faith, and generosity of her Italian heritage, and she spent her life sharing all three freely with everyone she met. She cooked with love and tended her garden with patient care. She was, in the truest sense, a great hostess: her table always had enough to feed one more, and her door was always open. Elisa found peace in long walks and in the beauty of the natural world, and she brought that same gentle spirit into every friendship she made. She was kind, accepting, and endlessly social, and made everyone feel like family. Above all, she was devoted to her grandchildren, and the joy they brought her was evident to all who knew her.
Elisa was predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years, Biagio Iaconelli, who passed in 2009, and whom she now joins in eternal peace. She was also preceded by her brothers, Carmine Pomponio and Giovanni Pomponio, and by her sister, Lucia Reniero. May she be reunited with them in the glory of God’s kingdom.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Maria Kierce (née Iaconelli), and son-in-law, Troy; her daughter, Anna Iaconelli; her grandchildren, Justin, Reed, and Morgan; her brother, Angelo Pomponio, and sister-in-law, Lynne; her sisters-in-law, Immacolata Iaconelli and Angelina Iaconelli; and numerous nieces and nephews. All of them will carry her memory forward.
A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at 11:00 am (PDT) at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 750 Rutland Rd N, Kelowna, BC. A reception will follow the service. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
As an expression of sympathy, flowers may be sent.
