We Remember
IRWIN, Robert Eldon George
November 3, 1958 — February 19, 2026
It is with great love and sadness that we announce the loss of Robert Eldon George, who passed away peacefully, while surrounded by family, on February 19, 2026, at the age of 67.
Left to hold him dear to their hearts are those he loved most, including his loving wife of 23 years, Tracey; children Alex (Angela), Brittany (Daniel), Matt (Ashley), and James; grandchildren Rupert, Harrison, Scotia, and Autumn; his best bud, Loki the dog; and many extended family members and friends.
Bob will be remembered for his deep love of the outdoors, his dedication to service, and the many traditions he shared with family and friends. An avid bagpiper, he found joy in music and in gathering with others to play and listen. He was also a passionate skier who rarely missed a chance to head up to Big White, where he loved parking at the Gem Lake chair to meet up with friends and their dogs before heading out onto the slopes. Bob had a lifelong appreciation for nature, especially after time spent in Williams Lake, where he developed a love of hunting, fishing, and canoeing. Annual fishing trips with close friends became a cherished ritual, and he also enjoyed collecting and tasting fine scotch, always happy to share a laugh and a story.
Bob served his country and community with pride. He served a 35-year career with the RCMP, serving in Chilliwack, Williams Lake, and Kelowna before going on to serve 10 years in the military with the British Columbia Dragoons. His experience in cadets as a young man led to a lifetime of fond memories which motivated him to continue his military service later in his career.
Bob retired in 2016 after decades of dedicated service and left a lasting impression on colleagues and the communities he served.
We extend a heartfelt thanks to everyone who has provided an act of kindness or sent us beautiful flowers and messages of support during this time, and a special thank-you to the ICU staff at Kelowna General Hospital for their compassionate care.
Bob will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
There will be a celebration of Bob’s life held in the near future. With limitations due to the size of the venue, the service will be by invitation only. For more information, please reach out to contact@regirwin.com.

So blessed to have worked with Bob and gotten to know him so much more. He made work so much more tolerable. I miss him so much all ready and his visits full of shits and giggles that left us both rolling on the floor. Hugs to you Tracey and your family Derek and Jetta
Very nice picture of Bob. He will be sadly missed by everyone.
Tracey, I never had the pleasure of meeting Bob but I’m sending my heartfelt condolences to you and the rest of your family. May the wonderful memories you shared help you through this difficult time.
Dear Tracey, I am thinking of you and sending my sincere heartfelt condolences. Bob was a very good man. I enjoyed our conversations we used to have. Sending you my thoughts and prayers. Gabriel & Family
I was extremely shocked to see that Bob has passed away. He was way too young. Heartfelt condolences to the entire family. I enjoyed backing Bob up on many calls, as a Police Dog Handler, while stationed in Kelowna from 1999 to 2006. I appreciated his work ethics and his sense of humour. We enjoyed a variety of interesting calls for service and he treated people as he expected to be treated by them. Fair and with respect and compassion. Rest in Peace.
Very sad to read of Bob’s passing. Way too young! Enjoyed working with Bob. Very kind & calm man. Condolences to all Bob’s family.

Tracey, our thoughts are with you and the rest of the family during this difficult time. Bob and I worked together for a few years after he moved down from Williams Lake, where I had also worked. His sense of humor and the stories always helped the day fly by. RIP you bandit! I’m sure you will be missed. Shawn
Tracey,
Stephanie and I are sending our deepest condolences to you and your family.
I was very fortunate to meet Bob. We shared several fishing adventures to the coast however my fondest memory was the last day of ski season at Big White last year. I met up with Bob at the hill and we skied the whole mountain from Gem to Black Forest and back. By the time we returned to our vehicles I was totally exhausted. We sat on the tailgate and shared a beer while Loki came out and chased his toy. This was another one of Bob’s perfect days but more importantly he made me realize that I was fortunate enough to see the beauty of a sunny mountain, a dog chasing a toy, and a friend to share it with! I will always remember how lucky I am to have known him.
I worked with Bob in the early 2000’s on the watch in Kelowna. I used to tease him mercilessly about being the grizzly old veteran because I was the new young guy. We became fast friends and he taught me many lessons at work and in life. It’s a bit of a shock to see his smiling face in this obituary, but it’s how I remember him. Always ready to share a laugh! Tracey and family, my sincerest condolences. RIP “Big Man!”
I worked with Bob in COTS in Kelowna and was fortunate enough to be subjected to his humour and love of life. I was his “junior man proof” target for a few years. He always made me feel welcomed to the team and was a wealth of information. I will remember him fondly. Sending you my sincerest condolences on the loss of this wonderful human being. He will be missed and has left his mark on everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him. RIP my friend.
So sad to see a fellow officer pass away so young. I had the pleasure of being coffee buddies with Bob on night shifts many moons ago in Kelowna. He either had me laughing or scratching my head, wondering what he was talking about! Good memories. My condolences to Bob’s family.
