Condolences

  • Terry Ostashek says:

    Dear Erika and family,

I was deeply saddened to learn that Herb has passed away. While the loss that I and many others feel cannot compare to the loss that your family is feeling, please take comfort in knowing that Herb was loved and respected by many and we all share in your loss! My thoughts and prayers are of you and with you as you struggle with the loss of Herb. He was a wonderful man. God bless Herb and your memory of him. God bless you all! Herb wouldn’t want it any other way!

    Terry Ostashek

  • Edelgard Frazee says:

Dear Erika, John, Jaquie, Bridget and families
My heart breaks for you, since I know what you are going through. But, as our Heavenly Father has carried me,twice, he will carry you. He is the God of all comfort. He took Herb home, where there are no more tears and no pain. You and Herb are two of my most special friends. I can’t thank you enough for what you have done for Werner and me on Sanibel, taking care of the Motel for us for 4 weeks at a time for just about 10 years, and always doing more than you should have. I remember how you comforted me when I lost Werner. Herb’s words were so completely in tune with the Bible and God’s promises. Please know that you are not only in my prayers, but also in my Church’s, Southwest Baptist Church of Fort Myers, FL. Our brothers and sisters in Christ who remember you also send their sincerest sympathy.
    With my love, always
    Edelgard

  • Judy (Howard) Swayne says:

My heart is saddened at the passing of Herb. My prayers and condolences to all of his family. Herb influenced me greatly through my three years at OBI. He was a great and Godly man and we will never know completely the impact he had on the world till we all meet together in eternity. He was the fragrance of Christ everywhere he went. I thank God that my life was imprinted by his testimony of faith.
    Judy (Howard) Swayne

    Dear Erika and family,
May our Lord Jesus bless you. We are grieving with you. We can’t fully fathom how you must be hurting at this difficult time.
We have great memories of Herb. His songs continue to encourage us and are a steady part of the music we play in our home and car.
    May God’s peace sustain you.
“And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.” (1Peter 5:10)
    Gratefully,
    John and Rueck

  • Erika Zimmermann says:

    Dear Erika,
I was very saddened to hear about the passing of Herbert.
My deepest condolences. My thoughts are with you since I know how hard it is to loose your loved one. It is only two month since Henry left me and often I think the door will open and he would walk in.
As we know time will heal and your trust in god.
    Thinking of you, Erika Zimmermann

  • Joyce Roesch says:

    Dear Erika and family:
When you lose someone you love, it always takes some time to cope with all the sadness and the changes you go through. So try to take things day by day and know you’re not alone – a lot of people truly care and hope the best for you.
    With deepest sympathy,
    Joyce Roesch

  • Ruth Deasley says:

I remember Uncle Herb with great fondness. As a child, he was my favorite uncle because he would take the time to interact with his nieces and nephews making us all feel very special. There was always great excitement in our home when we knew that Uncle Herb was coming for a visit, or when we knew we would be going up to Edmonton to visit with Oma and Opa. There was always the hope that Uncle Herb would be there as well. My mother, his sister Rosa, remembers her baby brother as a “good boy, never getting into trouble and always listening”. When our family did visit, and Uncle Herb was still at home you could be sure to find him in his room practicing and taping his music. Even as a young teen of 14, music was a large and important part of his life. This gift that he so easily gave back to the Lord has blessed and ministered to many throughout his life. What a blessing Uncle Herb was and will continue to be.

    Dear Tante Erika and family,
Please know that we are praying for you and your family daily. You are often in our thoughts. Several memories that I have of you and Uncle Herb… your visits to our home growing up, spending time in your home in Kelowna picking cherries, visiting with you in Radium and visiting Uncle Herb in the hospital after his transplant. I also remember clearly the last skype call we had where Uncle Herb was able to see my four girls and my girls were able to spend a few minutes with you two. We love you all and miss Uncle Herb!
