We Remember
Jackson, Richard
November 27, 1946 — December 6, 2011
On December 6, 2011, Richard Edward Jackson (Rick), my best friend, father of my children and soul mate, walked with the angels. He was succumbed by that terrible disease, Cancer, at the youthful age of 65. Rick is survived by his loving wife, Fran, son, Ian (Kathleen Jackson), daughters Barb, (Jared Diebel), Alicia (Mike Knight), Lindsey (Chad Zelke), granddaughters Kayli, Meghan, Amber, Faith, Noelle and Abigail, and his sister, Linda (Norm Dicks). He was pre-deceased by his mother (Dorothy), father (Kenneth), and twin brother (Raymond). Rick was born in Victoria and spent his youthful years in Nova Scotia as his father, whom he was immensely proud of, was stationed in the Navy there. He retired after 40 years of dedication to the Bank of Nova Scotia. Currently he was the proud office manager of Guisachan Family Medical Centre. Rick spent 6 years building houses for those less fortunate in Mexico with Immaculata Regional High School. He will be sorely missed by anyone who had the pleasure of knowing this wonderful bright eyed man, who never thought twice about lending a hand. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, December 13th at 11:00 am at St. Charles Garnier Parish, 3645 Benvoulin Road, Kelowna, BC. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation – Research, 399 Royal Avenue, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 5L3.

Fran, Alicia and Lindsay, we are so sorry to have lost your husband/father and our friend. He had a sparkle in his eyes that was portrayed through his positive attittude in life. We have fond memories of your visit to Punta Cana with us as well as many days on the golf courses in Kelowna. We will carry our memory of Rick from our last visit: a big smile on Rick’s face when Bruce gave him the beer (smuggled into the hospital) and the flask of wine for Fran. He will live on in many great memories that all of us hold. Our love to you in your loss of a great husband, father and friend.
Love Jacquie and Bruce

My thoughts are with you and your family at the recent passing of Rick. I’m sorry this is so late, but Ron Hinkleman let me know when I saw him at his work last week.
This terrible disease “cancer” is wicked and few people are untouched.
I did leave a message on your phone last night and hope to talk to you soon.
You are in my thoughts..
