We Remember

Jamieson, Frank Robert

November 13, 1951 — September 20, 2011

Frank died peacefully at the Kelowna General Hospital.  He is mourned by his wife of 32 years, Alison, and many dear friends and extended family across Canada, the United States and Western Europe.  He was predeceased by his sister Fiona, his brother Stuart and his parents Daniel and Margaret Jamieson.

Frank joined the federal public service in the early 1970’s in Vancouver where he discovered a love for and developed an expertise in labour relations management.  He moved to Ottawa in 1981 where he worked for the Department of National Defence (Headquarters) prior to his appointment as a labour relations negotiator for the Treasury Board Secretariat, specializing in marine labour negotiations.  Frank retired from the public service in 2006 and returned to British Columbia in 2008 with Alison, settling in Kelowna where he established his own consulting firm and took up the game of golf which provided him with many hours of enjoyment.

Frank will be remembered for his sharp wit, love of a good debate and sense of fair play.  He was a loyal friend and a loving and supportive husband.  Later this fall family and friends will share reminiscences at informal receptions to be arranged in Vancouver and Ottawa.  We would like to express our sincere appreciation for the outstanding care and kindness shown by the doctors and nurses of the Kelowna General Hospital.  Donations in lieu of flowers may be sent to the Kelowna General Hospital Foundation www.kghfoundation.com or the Ottawa Hospital Foundation www.ohfoundation.ca
