We Remember
JENSEN, June Elizabeth (née Ingram)
June 14, 1936 — November 5, 2024
Born on June 14, 1936, in Creston, BC, June Jensen, after a long and full life spanning 88 years, passed on November 5, 2024, in the Central Okanagan Hospice House in Kelowna, BC.
“June Bug” is survived by her children Jack, Tracy and Darren (Michelle); grandchildren: Aaron, Desiree, Conor, Autumn, Haven and Liberty; three great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Thelma Ingram; brother-in-law Keith Jensen, many nieces & nephews; cousins Lis & Paul Jensen in Denmark and her very dear friends John Gilmore, Josie and Alana. Sadly, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Aksel Jensen; grandson Kyle Jensen; parents, Bert & Lena Ingram; her sister Shirley; brothers Don and Melvin; sister-in-law Noretta; and by her treasured dog Charly.
June’s journey took her from her birthplace in Creston to Victoria, BC and beyond. Bound together since she was just a young teenager, June and Aksel built a lifetime together, their love and companionship deepening with each passing year, creating a bond that remained unbreakable through all of life’s seasons. June built a life around the family she loved so deeply. Aksel was her first and only true love and her greatest joy was her three children.
Feisty and strong-willed, she thrived in every role she took on. She and Aksel worked side by side in the store they owned and operated, Paul’s Superette, in Creston, BC to the casino in Victoria, BC where she worked as a supervisor and Aksel worked as a black jack dealer. June enjoyed the thrill of bingo and was a devoted golf fan, cheering on her favourite players,Tiger Woods and Viktor Hovland. In her next life, we’re certain she’ll be hitting the fairways as a natural.
Burial will be private and a Celebration of Life for June will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Central Okanagan Hospice House, in memory of our June Bug.

June and her husband Aksel were my 2nd parents while playing hockey in Creston 1977-78.
Fun loving hardworking people who were so proud of their son Darren who made it to the NHL .
June worked tirelessly at Pauls Superette in Creston but always had time for people for coffee and a smoke and a card game in their dining room .
