We Remember
JENSEN, Neil
June 23, 1970 — October 9, 2021
Neil Jensen, 51, passed away on October 9, 2021, at home surrounded by loved ones. He was the loving husband of Rachelle Jensen. While they knew each other for over 20 years, they were together for 10 years and married for 7 years.
Born on June 23, 1970, in Calgary, Alberta, he was the son of Lester-Ann Jensen and Gayle Jensen. Neil lived in Calgary and Lethbridge before moving to Kelowna in 1980, where he would make his home for the rest of his life. He graduated from Rutland Secondary School and would go on to pursue a career in stucco for the remainder of his life, which included a year of working abroad in Taiwan.
Neil was a member of numerous sports teams but felt equally at home travelling around the world with his wife and family. He will always be remembered for his loving nature, his genuine smile, and his care-free attitude; there wasn’t a soul close to Neil that wasn’t positively impacted by his presence. Neil was the epitome of goodness, and his tragic passing is truly a loss, not only to those closest to him, but also to all of mankind.
Neil is survived by his wife Rachelle Jensen; his stepson Jared Curry (Nadia Schober); his mother Lester-Ann Jensen; his two sisters, Dawn Ackroyd (Allan Ackroyd) and Gaylene Nelson (Duane Nelson); as well as his nieces and nephews: Taylor Ross (Britton Ross), Jordan Nelson, Sydney Muller (Nathan Muller), Jillian Conley (Chase Conley), and Peirce Ackroyd. Neil is predeceased by his father, Gayle Jensen.
The memorial service will be held on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2021, at 10:00 AM, IN THE TRINITY CHURCH GYMNASIUM, 1905 Springfield Rd, Kelowna, BC. For those unable to attend, please join the family online, by Livestream, https://youtu.be/Ltf0ORXv7pU.

Rachelle,
I am so very sorry to hear of Neil’s passing. I first met Neil when you both played in the dealership ball tournament. Neil was a stellar athlete and was so considerate of other levels of athleticism. I remember him helping guide the players and it wasn’t the fact that he did it, so much as how inclusive and sincere his encouragement was. Later on he was never shy to say hello or give a friendly head nod to Geoff and I in passing at the hockey games. Neil was the kind of guy that you wanted to bump into, always smiling and laughing. He had the good guy vibe through and through and it will certainly be missed.
Thinking of you and wishing you the best.
One of my best childhood buddies…. We had so many adventures, good and bad! But all fun and worthwhile the memories I will always have of Neil….gonna miss ya good buddy!
I was sad to hear of Neil’s passing. My memories of your family in elementary school was wonderful. Neil was my first kiss but afterwards we both said yuk lol . We where so young and it was in his snow cave he built that he kissed me. Then at our ten years grad reunion we reunited again. Although that was short lived as I was his rebound from his previous long relationship. The last time I got to see him was just before he married Rachel in Vancouver before he got on the cruise boat . Thankfully I got to see Gaylene and Dwane at the same time. your family was a great memory of my younger years. Neil will be missed but my memories of him and your family will always be in my heart so thanks for that. Praying for peace in your family.
