We Remember
JESPERSON, Doreen Elaine
December 22, 1928 — February 13, 2026
With great sadness, we announce the passing of our dear mother, Doreen Elaine Jesperson. Doreen passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, at the amazing age of 97.
Doreen was born in Vancouver, BC, in 1928 to Elsie and William Price. They relocated to Chilliwack in 1936. After high school graduation, she worked in secretarial jobs for the Department of Agriculture in Chilliwack, International Pipelines in Edmonton, and the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board.
Doreen married Arthur Russell Jesperson in 1953. Arthur’s career in the RCMP resulted in several moves, from Edmonton to Ottawa, Regina, Victoria and back to Ottawa again. They returned to their home town of Chilliwack after retirement in 1982, where they enjoyed their garden, RV’ing with friends and relatives and visiting family. In 2015 they moved to Kelowna to be near their daughter, and spent many great years at the Chatsworth assisted living home.
Doreen is survived by her children Gayle (Daniel) Jesperson, Brent (Irena) Jesperson, and Garth (Janine) Jesperson; sister June Awrey; grandchildren Amber Choo, Jordan Choo, Mark Jesperson, Derek Jesperson, Paige Saunders, and Colby Jesperson; great-grandchild Kassidy McAloney; and many nieces and nephews. Doreen was predeceased by her husband Arthur in 2021.
We will miss you Mom! But also grateful to have had you in our lives for such a long run!
Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Sunpoint Village in Kelowna for the excellent and compassionate care Mom received in her final months.
In keeping with Doreen’s wishes, no funeral service will be held. She will be honoured in the hearts of those who had the joy of knowing her.
