We Remember

Johnson, Frederick “Fred”

March 9, 1963 — November 28, 2023

Fred Johnson, aged 60, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2023. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and adventure that will forever be cherished by those who knew him.

Fred is survived by his devoted wife, Eyvonne Johnson, with whom he shared 23 beautiful years of marriage and 40 years of unwavering love and companionship. His heart was filled with love not only for Eyvonne but also for their cherished fur babies, who brought immense joy and laughter into their lives. Fred’s vibrant spirit was felt by all, especially by his Personal Lifestyle Support Staff, who were more than just support workers; they were his extended family, providing him with unwavering care and support.

Fred lived life to the fullest, finding joy in simple pleasures such as watching movies, enjoying leisurely walks, relishing dinner dates with his beloved Eyvonne and friends, and experiencing the tranquility of camping and fishing trips. An avid participant in the Special Olympics, Fred’s determination and talent shone brightly as he proudly earned medals in track and field, exemplifying his tenacity and dedication.

Along with his adventurous spirit, Fred possessed a heart of pure gold – gentle, kind, and often described as a big teddy bear by those who knew him best. Fred will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his loving family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the SPCA, a cause close to Fred’s heart.

Details regarding a celebration of Fred’s life will be shared soon, allowing family and friends to come together to honour his remarkable journey and the immeasurable impact he made on the lives of those around him.
