We Remember
JOHNSON, Raymond “Dave”
November 15, 1933 — September 27, 2023
The time has come to remember, celebrate, and share the story of Dave Johnson, who passed away in the comfort of his home in Kelowna, BC on September 27, 2023, at the age of 89.
Dave will be resurrected and join those who went before him, including his loving wife of 64 years, Norma; sisters Katie, Dorothy, and Eileen; brothers Billy and Earl; and his parents Winnie and Gunder. He is held dear in the hearts of his children Rhonda (Bruce) and Dave; grandchildren Jordan (Tara), Lorianne, and Mitchell; great-grandchildren Tyson, Charlie, Joseph, and Hailey-Brook; siblings Alice, Donna, and Butch; as well as many cousins, family, and friends.
Dave was born to Winnifred and Gunder Johnson in Consort, Alberta in 1933, where he grew up and met the love of his life, Norma. Together, they had two kids, Rhonda and Dave, and looked after many others. Eventually, the family moved to British Columbia, where Dave was a respected member of the construction industry, building the first edition of Orchard Park Mall, as well as many other commercial buildings in the city, including Springfield Funeral Home. Dave was always an avid flyer, earning his pilot’s licence and enjoying being in the air well into his 80s! He enjoyed playing the guitar and listening to his wife and daughter sing. Dave and his son enjoyed their fishing trips together, catching salmon. Dave had a huge heart, and he will be greatly missed by all who held him dear.
On October 20th, 2023, there will be a gathering to remember Dave, at the Ellison Heritage Community Centre, located at 4411 Old Vernon Road, Kelowna, BC, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Anyone who would like to participate in remembering Dave are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.

To Dave’s Family…. I am very sorry for your loss. It was a great pleasure servicing Dave’s systems over many years and I will miss the many great conversations we had. Talented, kind, funny and always interesting to talk with. I will miss him.
