JOHNSON, Robert (Bob) Lyle passed away peacefully Monday, October-06-14 at the age of 81. Survived by his loving family, two sons, Dan (Shelly) of Vernon, Greg (Angie) of Summerland and their mother Dorothy; five grandchildren, Denai, Bron, Madison, Kiefer and Keegan; two sisters, Lorna Dreveny of Kelowna, Luella Larsen of Penticton and numerous nieces and nephews. Sadly predeceased by five brothers, Albert, Carl, Gerald, Russell and Edgar and one sister, Doris. Bob and his brother-in-law worked in a Tire business in Penticton in 1948. In 1958 he moved to Prince George operating North West Tires and in 1966 moved to Richmond becoming Firestone Canada District Manager. In 1975 he moved to Kelowna opening Bob Johnson Tire Center for the next 10 years. This followed with a change in career to Real Estate until his retirement. Bob was a member of the Kelowna Golf and Country Club and enjoyed golfing. He loved playing Bridge at the different clubs in Kelowna and he was also very involved as a Rotarian. He will be dearly missed and in our hearts forever. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 2pm at the Salvation Army Community church, 1480 Sutherland Ave. Kelowna, B.C.. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to B.C. Heart & Stroke Foundation, #4 – 1551 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna, BC V1Y 9M9.
