We Remember
JOHNSON, Ronald
October 17, 1938 — August 9, 2025
Ronald Johnson, man of God, has, on August 9, 2025, gone to be with his Lord at the age of 86. He was surrounded by his loving family when he passed from this life on to the next. Always spreading the Word, Ron was affectionately known as “Ambassador Ron”.
Born on October 17, 1938, Ron was a friend to all, who always greeted people and made them feel welcome. In his late teens, Ron (along with his twin brother, Don) was a Bantam Weight wrestler and a champion in BC. As life progressed, he took his competitive spirit from the ring to the green and took up golfing. By trade, he was a mechanic working at the same company for 50 years, the work suited him, he was great at it, and nothing pleased him more than helping people get their vehicles purring again. He was generous with his skills and time, and he freely offered his skills to friends, neighbours, and family outside his working hours. His generosity was legendary, Ron would give this time to anyone in need and never want anything in return.
Ron believed everything happens for a reason, perhaps that faith is what kept him steady and positive. He was gentle, loyal, and a trusted confidant. Never extravagant, he valued the simple pleasures of life; watching quail bob along the garden or hummingbirds darting about. Ron also enjoyed his meeting up with friends at Tim Hortons – also known as the office.
He is survived by the love of his life and partner in faith, Sharon, his wife of 57 years; children, of whom he was so proud, Carla, Lee, and Annette; and sons-in-law Dave and Morgan; grandchildren Miles, Natasha, Jena, Stephanie, Tristan, Marissa, Megan, Destiny, and Tatum; and great-grandchildren Landon, Ayden, Aubree, Belladonna, Silver, and Elena. He will also be dearly missed by his twin brother, Donald (Shirley). Ron was predeceased by his brother Oscar and sister-in-law Doreen.
A Celebration of Life will be held on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2025, at 1:30 PM, located at Emmanuel Church, 2600 Hebert Road, West Kelowna, BC.

Dear Sharon and family. I am so sorry about Ron’s passing. He was so kind and encouraging. I will always remember him telling me, as I am sure he did to everyone, “You’re special.” He has such a warmth about him and sincerity. He also had such an understanding about our church truly being a family. I will miss him. I know many, many other people will as well. We have all been blessed to have him in our lives.
As one of Ron’s close neighbours, I can say that he was always sharing the word with anyone who would stand still long enough to hear him. He had a sincere enthusiasm for helping me whenever he had a chance. He selflessly helped friends and family in every way he could, always smiling with his sparkling eyes, which were filled with the joy of giving. We miss him and we will remember him – with love.
