We Remember
JUPP, Leonard Warden “Len”
September 18, 1929 — December 22, 2024
Leonard Jupp, our Dad, Papa, and Great-Papa, passed away, peacefully, on December 22, 2024, at the age of 95. He was at home in the Village at Smith Creek in West Kelowna, BC. . Len was born on September 18, 1929, in Toronto, Ontario, to the late James & Jean (née Milligan) Jupp.
Len was predeceased by his best friend and loving wife of 65 years, Kaye (1932 – 2019), and his brother James R. Jupp (1925-2011). He leaves behind his daughter Susan (Michael) Cavaghan; his two grandchildren, Katie (James) Grassie and Brian (Kalsie) Cavaghan; along with four great-grandchildren, Parker & Wells Grassie and Charlotte & Avery Cavaghan.
Len was involved in several activities throughout his lifetime. He enjoyed canoeing, skiing, golfing, gardening, curling, cycling, and swimming — several of these activities were enjoyed with Kaye, who he met when he was 16 at the cottage on Lake Simcoe. They experienced many adventures together, including travelling to various destinations.
Len began his career in the family shoe business, which was over 100 years old, in Toronto. He also studied to be a draftsman and was employed in this trade for many years. His printing was impeccable from all of the blueprints he drew. He also worked for Simpson’s and the Bay. After he retired, he enjoyed helping at his son-in-law Michael’s Shell station.
Dad’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He loved seeing and hearing about their activities and achievements.
We, his family, would like to thank Dr. Larry Bobyn and all the staff at the Village at Smith Creek, for their excellent care of Len.
Len/Dad/Papa/Great-Papa: We will miss you very much, but we also feel how special it is for you to have Christmas with Kaye/Mom/Nana/Great-Nana.

Lovely. Like I said so many wonderful
Memories to share. You are so blessed to
Have both your parents for so long.
Thoughts with you as you go
Through the holiday season.
Maureen.
Susan and family- my heartfelt condolences on the loss of your dear dad. He was a lovely gentleman, and I always enjoyed my conversations with both he and your mom when I would see them around town. They have left a wonderful legacy in your family, and I hope happy memories bring you peace.
Susan, Michael, and family,
We have just heard about Len’s passing and am so sorry.
I am, however, happy to know that he lived close to you and your family. It must have been wonderful and comforting for him to watch it grow and to know his great-grandchildren. How nice that must have been!
I’ve attached a photo in which I think Len is in bottom left, unfortunately not looking at the camera. Jim is behind him. I think the occasion was my Father’s (sitting on right side) return from WWII in 1946.
Len certainly lived a long and varied life which he shared with all of you in a beautiful place.
All the best to you and your family.
Sincerely,
Bill and Kathryn Jupp
I am so sorry for your loss. Blake always enjoyed his conversations with Len.
You are all in my thoughts.
Susan sending our sincerest condolences to you, Michael and your family. Shelley and I were saddened to learn of your Dad’s passing. Although it has been many years, I always enjoyed time spent with both your Dad and Mom, whether at a family reunion, at your home in Agincourt or the times I’d drop in on Len at work. He had one of the biggest smiles I’d ever seen and his face always lit up when he saw you coming! I know that both he and your Mom must be sorely missed.
Further to the picture that Bill sent, it was actually taken on your great Grandma and great Grandpa’s 40th wedding anniversary in 1939. Attached is are my Dad’s notes on the back of my copy of the picture as a record of those there. Thought you might also enjoy this memento of your Dad’s side of the family.
Know that you all remain in our hearts and that we will be thinking of you.
Bob and Shelley Jupp
