My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I have so many good memories of the years when Pastor Kalamen was at Evangel…they were important years, formative years in my christian walk, and I will always be grateful he was my pastor. Heaven must be rejoicing! Another faithful saint has come home!

Thinking of you in this time of saying good-bye to a beloved husband and earthly father. When I read the obit for Pastor Kalamen, many memories of Evangel Tabernacle came flooding back. May you take comfort in your memories at this time of sadness. God bless and keep each one of you.

  • Joanna Whittingstall (Rathjen) says:

My heart goes out to you all, Mrs. Kalamen,Barb and Dave and all his grandchildren. It is not easy to say goodbye to someone you love so dearly, even when you know you will see them again. He was a wonderful pastor and I agree with Karen, he held a huge place in our lives as we grew into the truth and confidence of our Lord and Savior. Evangel was a wonderful place and he led us well. We missed him when he left, and we look forward to the banquet table, being together once again. Absent from the body, present with the Lord. How that has been so definately renewed in our minds over the past year. Much love, prayers and peace to you all. Know that you carry his torch well. He is indeed pleased.

    • Barb (Kalamen) Giesbrecht says:

Hi Joanne, I just came upon all of this today and am so blessed to read it all. What a joy it is to read these from everyone! Yes,those were great days at Evangel. Dad is in a far greater place, his final destiny that he longed for!Together with his Father! We are truly blessed!

  • Don and Carol Lesiuk says:

Dear Audrey, David, Barbara and your families: Pastor Kalamen, played a very big role in our lives, as young Christians. We loved him dearly! We honestly can’t remember, seeing him without a smile on his face and the love and the joy of our Lord pouring out of his heart. We were very blessed to have this great man of God pass through our lives. Our family will never forget how he and others from KCC sacrificially ministered to my father, everyday, for a whole year, when he was dying. We had every intention of being at Pastor Arnold’s funeral service, But, that very day, our granddaughter, Quinn, and our daughter-in-law Lesley ended up in the hospital. We pray that our God will comfort you and keep you, as you move through this time of sorrow. With our love, Don and Carol Lesiuk

    • Barb Giesbrecht says:

Dear Don and Carol, Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers and words of condolence. I shared them with my Mom the other day and she was blessed by them. We also have such fond memories of your family that I could go on here for a long time. They were also a blessing to our lives. I am sorry to hear about Lesley and Quinn and pray that they are better. You can go to KCC’s website and view Dad’s service at http://www.kcc.net. Just click on the right side there. You will also see the pamphlet Justin designed for Dad…it’s beautiful! Thanks again so much. We are honored to hear from you…Barb
