Dear Auntie Nicki – I was so sorry to hear of Uncle Roy’s passing. You and Uncle Roy were our Ottawa family while we were growing up and we often look back fondly at our Christmas gatherings, the Easter Egg hunts that you hosted, as well as other get togethers. We will always remember Uncle Roy with fondness and good memories. With my heartfelt sympathy, Love, Wendy
We are so sorry to hear about your loss. The world will miss such a great man, so knowledgable, so humble and so giving. Our thoughts are with you and we will miss him dearly! Much love to you and the family in this difficult time.
To Nicki
Today I saw the news of Roy’s passing. I have some wonderful memories of Roy through my association with him during the time he spent organizing the Remembrance Day service at Stanley Park. My mother, Winnie Taguchi, used to recite In Flanders Fields and when she passed away, I continued in her stead. Roy was always so appreciative and kind towards my mother and she very much appreciated that. We have lost a very caring patriotic member of our community. We will carry on his legacy and honour our veterans as they should be honoured for their dedication and service to our country.
We send you our condolences and wish you strength and peace in the days ahead.

I first met Roy in 1960 when he served in the 1st battalion of The Royal Canadian Regiment. We served together in Germany. Roy was a wonderful person anda fine soldier. Our heats go out to Nicki.
When I first joined The Royal Canadian Regiment in the late 60s I met Roy and he impressed me as a kind and warm officer who liked all that he met. He was someone a young officer should emulate. Rest In Peace Roy.
