We Remember

KEMP, Ronald John “Ron”

March 24, 1938 — January 7, 2025

Ronald John “Ron” Kemp passed away peacefully on the morning of January 7, 2025, at the age of 86.

Survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Dorothy; four children; seventeen grandchildren; and his sister in Edmonton, AB. Ron was predeceased by his parents, two brothers, and two of his sisters.

Born in Spirit River, AB, Ron’s journey took him through various towns and cities before he and Dorothy settled in Surrey, BC in 1985. There, they built a life full of mirth, hard work, and devotion, raising their young family together.

In retirement, they moved to Kelowna, BC, where Ron became the quintessential Jack of All Trades. Whether tinkering or working on the house, Ron’s hands were rarely still.  He also loved going out for walks with his sweet little dog, Dusty. He had a heart as big as the great outdoors, but watch out for those hockey debates – Ron always had a strong opinion (and a few stories to back it up)!

We are going to miss him, he found his place in the world and he lived a good life.

A family gathering to celebrate Ron’s life will be held at a later date.
