We Remember
KILLY, Shelagh Rosemary
May 13, 1926 — December 26, 2015
Shelagh came into this world May 13, 1926 in Espanola Ontario, a second daughter to Muriel and William Needham, and departed this world from Kelowna B.C. Dec 26, 2015 in her 90th year. Shelagh was our Mum, our Grannie, and our Steady Rock. Graduating from Toronto Western Hospital in nursing in 1947, Shelagh provided care at Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal, Kootenay Lake Hospital in Nelson, then retired from Prince George Regional Hospital after many years where she worked obstetrics as Head Nurse of the Maternity Ward. During these years Shelagh took time out to raise four children in Creston BC, Fort Fraser BC, and Prince George BC. There were good times and bad, rich times and poor times, but all was accepted in stride with strength and grace. When it was time to change course, she always seemed to make the right choice. It is with admiration and great sadness that we say good-bye to this Grand Lady. Her passing has left a void in our lives and all the lives she has touched, even ever so gently. Shelagh is predeceased by her parents, her sister Joan, her husband Ivor Killy, and first husband Arvid Moen. Left to cherish her memory are her four adult children; Robert (Maureen), Andrea, Eric (Diane), Jon (Susan), eight grandchildren; Amy, David (Rebekah), Siahra (Jorden), Meghan, Brandon (Jenn), Dorian (Vicky), Alexander, and Nicholas. Also three great grandchildren; Emily, Anna, and Madelyn, as well as several nieces, nephews, and close friends.
“Please do not cry. I long to stay with you but it is my time to go.”
Cremation requested. Private Family Celebration of Life to be held in Prince George at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Shelagh’s memory. For those wishing to send a condolence, photos or share memories, may do so by scrolling down this page to the area called “Share Your Condolences.”

So hard to say good-bye to such a special lady. I will miss our coffee times, stories and a lot of laughs. She was a true friend to all and a very precious person to us. You will be forever in our thoughts.
