We Remember
KILMARTIN, Peter
February 3, 1936 — May 7, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of Peter Kilmartin, who passed away in his home on May 7, 2026, at the age of 90.
Pete is survived by his children: Tom (Rose), Greg, Bruce (Barb), Dale (Dorothy), and Gerry, as well as a large extended family and many close friends.
He is now reunited with those who passed before him, including his beloved wife, Bella, and all 16 of his siblings.
Pete was a character with a good sense of humour. He dedicated his early years to service as an army paramedic, a role that introduced him to his passion for skydiving; he went on to complete over 400 freefall dives. Pete was a man of varied professional pursuits, working as a guard for Brinks and the BC prison system, and later as a painter, tile setter, and carpenter in the trades.
One of Pete’s greatest accomplishments was his 56 years of sobriety. He took pride in his journey and extended his compassion to many others, offering support and making a lasting, positive impression.
Through the years, Pete found a steady path and a renewed heart, and left us with his best and brightest self.

We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Peter. He was such a wonderful man. He always had a smile on his face and always had a joke that soon followed. There was nothing he couldn’t do on our home renovations ., We will always remember what a special person he was. Wayne & Delcie Hill.
Pete made me laugh!! His kindness and presence radiated and gave me that feeling I want what he has. He will be missed but his many lessons will live on!
