We Remember
KLASK, Shirley Elaine
—
December 27, 1934 – January 15, 2021
Shirley Elaine Klask, age 86, passed away peacefully in a home in Kelowna, BC on January 15, 2021. She was born December 27, 1934 in Valentine, Nebraska to Shirley Siedler and Samuel Sheets.
Shirley loved being with people, and she also had a special love for her cats. She loved to do crossword puzzles, watch the Calgary Stampeders, and garden. She rarely kept her hands still.
For many years Shirley worked at the Quality Bakery in Fernie, BC, where she left a lasting impression and forever friendships. She worked hard her whole life. She volunteered a lot of her time with the Salvation Army for many years, when you would hear Shirley talk about this it was always with great happiness; it suited her servant heart.
Her life was a living example of the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 – “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ”.
Shirley is survived by her son Derek and his wife Jennalee; her grandchildren Brooklynn and Kinslee; as well as her brother Irvin Lee Sheets; and her nieces.
Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, no funeral service will be held.

Shirley and I were neighbors and friends since 1995. Sadly we lost contact a number of years after she moved to Kelowna to be near Derek and his family, but I thought of her often. We had many good road trips together and lots of laughs. She always insisted on coming with me in the winter to feed the horses in case I had an accident at the farm and needed to get to the hospital. One winter that did happen, but low and behold Shirley couldn’t get me to the hospital because she couldn’t drive a 5-speed, standard vehicle. I teased her relentlessly about that.
Our condolences to Derek and family. Marva and Cheri
We knew Shirley and you Derek from the FMH Park., You always asked if “Tom” if he could come out to “Play”
and of course Tom would. Your Mom was a kind and Beatiful Lady, always put others first.
Our Thoughts and Prayers are with you and your family….
