We Remember
KLETKE, Eva
February 4, 1931 — May 25, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Eva Kletke of Kelowna, BC, who left us peacefully on May 25, 2026, at the age of 95.
Eva was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend whose kindness touched everyone she met. She was born in Peltschanka, Poland on February 4, 1931, to parents Alexander and Leokadia Kakoschke. She immigrated to Canada in 1949, where she met Gustav Kletke. They were married in September 1952.
Eva was predeceased by her loving husband, Gustav Kletke; daughter Esther Hildebrandt; her parents; brothers Rudy and Otto Kakoschke; sister Lucy Geisler; and grandson Anthony Hildebrandt.
Eva is survived by children Jennie Lea-Wilson, Gordon (Anita), Doris, and Raymond (Liz); grandchildren Colin, Amanda, Carrie, Stefanie, Sherri-Lynn, Christine, Danielle, Michael, Becca, Carter, Stephanie, and Megan; great-grandchildren Emma, Owen, Byron, Emily, Jaxson, Brandon, Joe, John, Charlie, Everett, Edison, Ezra, and Eva; brothers Gary and Danny Kakoschke; and sister Ursula Glombeck.
Eva was most famous for the great tortes she made for many occasions and the numerous Afghans, baby blankets, children’s clothing, and dish cloths that she knitted and gave away to all her family members and others. Eva was a devout Christian and enjoyed singing in the church choir for many years.
Though Eva’s passing has left a huge void in our hearts, we take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace in the loving arms of Jesus.
A celebration of Eva’s life will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 1:00 pm, located at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC.
A private (family) internment is planned for Friday, June 5, 2026, at the Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery.

Alles Gute your cousin Helusch
