We Remember

KNOOIHUIZEN, David Allen
—
Dave was born in Kelowna, March 27, 1952, to Mary and Bob. Never straying too far from “home”, Dave passed away Dec 30, 2023, in peaceful Beaverdell.
Dave’s family will be missing him, his partner, Nia; his children, Cheryl (Darryl), Dawn, and Terry (Tina); Nia’s children, Dave (Vanessa), and Mike ( Allison); 17 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandsons; his brother Jack (Zonya); nieces and nephews; and of course his very important fur babies. Many special family members predeceased Dave and they are now re-united with him.
Dave was always a lover of the outdoors. Camping, fishing, hunting, a 4×4 up Spion Kop, a bonfire, sledding, quadding, or even a crazy carpet ride down a steep hill followed by a hot tub “to get the kinks out” were all things Dave enjoyed. These things couldn’t be done alone, because, what fun would that be? So….Dave always had accomplices. He called the accomplices his friends. Dave leaves many friends with wonderful memories of time spent with him.
Dave was a red seal carpenter and spent most of his working years at Sawchuck Developments and School District 23. Dave was proud to be a volunteer fireman for Kelowna Fire Dept (Glenmore Hall), where he made many lasting friendships.
He will be missed so very much by those who loved him. May he rest in peace now.

Jack my heart felt condolences go out to you and all of yours and Dave’s families…
So sad to see Dave gone. Dave, you left too soon. Back in 1979, I was looking for a carpenter to help put in a new fireplace. I was introduced to Dave thru another friend. That was the beginning of a great relationship. A family gathering with the kids from both families taking their first steps. My daughter Lisa taking steps to Dave’s arms. That’s what she and the rest of the family thought about Dave. Years of hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling and just about anything, so we could hang out together. We were fishing together when Mount Saint Helen’s blew. Ðave, we will miss you. Please accept our condolences from the Hoffman family.
It is hard to believe that Dave is gone, I agree with what my parents wrote, you left much too soon. I have so many wonderful memories of camping, fishing, dirtbiking, snowmobiling or just hanging out by the fire with the Knoopers. You helped us build a new deck at our first house and then the garage. More recently you were always one of the first (or the very first) to make an amazing comment on any project I was working on in my shop, through Facebook. I will never forget your words of encouragement and will miss them dearly.
I hope you are reunited with all your beloved yellow labs.
Rest Easy, Lisa
Sorry to hear of Dave’s passing. The Strong’s
