We Remember

KNORR, Mark
—
1954 – 2020
We are heartbroken to announce the peaceful passing of Mark Knorr on August 11, 2020, at the age of 65 with his loving family at his side. Mark fought a courageous battle with Primary Cerebral Lymphoma brain cancer.
Mark was born in Kelowna to Jack and Irene Knorr on October 1, 1954. He will be remembered by his mother Irene, his wife and best friend Joanne, daughter Kyla (Sean), son Brandon (Kati), grandchildren Rylie and Colton, and by his brothers Renny (Lorraine), Tom, and Dan (Leanne). He will also be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends. Mark was predeceased by his father, Jack, and brothers Kirby and Randy.
Mark married Joanne in 1975 in Kelowna. He was a contractor and loved traveling with his family and friends to white sand beaches, soaking up the sun and turquoise water with a stiff drink in his hand. He was happiest when creating memories with family and friends, particularly during Friday night fire chats and camping. Mark was proud of his children and loved the choices they made for their spouses; Kati and Sean had a special place in his heart.
Mark had many fishing trips, the last being with his son Brandon. He cherished his time spent with his daughter Kyla (Mouser) and the stories about the shenanigans they would get into after a couple of beer. Mark enjoyed his mother’s company, homemade bread, cinnamon buns, and cream puffs. He was also loved on the Island of Roatan, being invited to the homes of the locals. He loved snorkeling in the clear Caribbean water. Mark was compassionate and kind, especially when it came to the underprivileged. A highlight for him on his holidays in Roatan and Mexico was when they fed, clothed, and gave toys to children and adults in need. He loved good friends, good food, and a stiff cocktail.
A piece of us went with him. He will be in our hearts and our memories and will be loved forever and always. Condolences may be sent to the family in the link below.
The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. Due to the current pandemic restrictions, it will be by invitation only, however, the family would like to invite all who would like to pay their respects to join by Livestream via the link below.
Immediately following the service at Springfield Funeral Home, a gathering will be open to anyone wishing to attend, outside at Brandon and Kati’s home at 1945 Belgo Road, Kelowna, BC.
