We Remember

KOEHLER, Eldon Bert

In loving memory of Eldon Koehler who passed away on August 16, 2021, at the age of 91 years. He was born in Cadillac, Saskatchewan.

Eldon was known for the love he had for his family and friends. He loved to spend time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.

He was a hard-working man, working in the construction industry (sawmills and mining) as a heavy-duty mechanic, welder, and crane operator. He also was an entrepreneur owning and operating two successful automotive businesses, a service station in Westbank and an automotive parts store in Kelowna.

He enjoyed sports like hockey, baseball, curling, and golf. He was also a hockey and baseball coach.

Eldon had a passion for dancing, camping, fishing, and travelling.

He thoroughly enjoyed attending family events, dinners (especially if there was steak and mushrooms and for dessert, chocolate cake with ice cream! His favourites!), and sporting events.

He was known for being a big tease, joking around and swiping desserts with family and friends. He also loved a good debate with anyone who would challenge him.

Eldon will be dearly missed by his very special friend and companion, Rose Furjanic; his children Lorraine (Garry) Roth and Brian (Joyce) Koehler; grandchildren Robin (Brett) Allingham, Jeremy (Lisa) Roth, Kim (Jeff) Koehler, Chris (Jen) Roth, and Janine (Rob) Brown; and his great-grandchildren Ava Allingham, Wyatt Allingham, Quinn Allingham, Jack Roth, Olivia Brown, and Quin Brown.

The family would like to thank Dr. Nordine, the nurses, and volunteers at Hospice House for their care during Eldon’s time of need.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Central Okanagan Hospice House.

There will be a private Memorial Service.
