We Remember
KORPIAHO, Alfred
June 24, 1931 — March 9, 2017
KORPIAHO, Alfred
Mr. Alfred Korpiaho, 85 years of age, of Kelowna, BC, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Hilkka, their three daughters, and their families. Alfred was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario on June 24, 1931. He left his family with fond memories of camping, fishing and travelling. Alfred and Hilkka relocated to Kelowna, BC, in 2010. He loved the milder climate and the company of his beloved dog, Tippy. Alfred was a happy soul who loved to laugh.
God looked around his garden
and found an empty space,
He then looked down upon this earth
and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you
And lifted you to rest;
God’s garden must be beautiful,
He only takes the best.
He knew the road was getting rough
and the hills were hard to climb,
so he closed your weary eyelids
and whispered, Peace be thine.
It broke our hearts to lose you
but you did not go alone,
for part of us went with you
the day God called you home.

Don’t remember me with sadness,
Don’t remember me with tears.
Remember all the laughter
We’ve shared throughout the years.
Now I am contented
That my life it was worthwhile,
Knowing that I passed along the way
I made somebody smile.
When you are walking down the street
And you’ve got me on your mind,
I’m walking in your footsteps
Only half a step behind.
So please don’t be unhappy
Just because I’m out of sight;
Remember that I’m with you
Each morning. noon and night.
Lepää rauhassa, Alfred.
