KORT, Ernest

November 23, 1933 — September 22, 2022

Ernest ‘Ernie’ Kort went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on September 22, 2022, at the age of 88. He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on November 23, 1933, to Edward and Emma Kort.  Ernie is survived by his wife, Gladys Kort, and their 4 children, Greg (Leanne), Kim (Anand) Kannan, Ken (Keri), and Debbie (Greg) Kornell; 10 grandchildren Amanda (Perdeep), Graeme (Chloe), Tyler (Kristi), Keeland (Kayla), Kyle, Shalayna, Megan (Jayden), Jordyn, Madison, and Jackson; and three great-grandchildren Raina, Ronin, and Ollie Mae; as well as his sister Irene Frers and brother Ken. Ernie was predeceased by three sisters, Gladys Schnidel, Jean Buss, and Evelyn Job.

An opportunity for viewing and to visit with family will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm, at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 10:00 am, at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery, 1991 Bernard Ave.

The family would also like to extend a special thank-you to the nurses and care staff at Three Links Manor, who took such special care of Ernie for the last three years. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ernie can be made to Three Links Manor or KGH Foundation.
