KRAHN, Kara-Lee
June 12, 1975 — February 6, 2024
It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and aunt. Kara-Lee passed away suddenly in Kelowna, BC, on February 6, 2024, at the age of 48. She is survived by her husband, Chad; sons, Carson and Brady; and daughter, Makena. She is also survived by her parents, Karel and Thomas Grudecki; mother-in-law, Leslie Krahn; sister, Corinne Severson (Kyle); brothers-in-law, Ryan Krahn (Jennifer) and Scott Krahn (Anna); nieces, Avery, Kennedy, Rebecca, and Mila; and nephew Nolin. She was predeceased by her father-in-law, Glen Krahn.
Although taken far too early, Kara-Lee lived life to its fullest. Her proudest accomplishment was her family. As a mother, she poured her heart and soul into raising her three children, instilling in them the values of kindness, compassion, and resilience.
Kara-Lee was not a collector of things but rather of people. She was curious and built connections with all those she met. She will be forever remembered as a kind and generous soul, who always put others’ needs before her own. Kara-Lee’s sudden departure has left a void in the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her selflessness, kindness, and unwavering love. May her spirit continue to shine brightly through the lives of her children and those that she touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held on FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2024, at 1:00 PM (PST), at REVELRY FOOD + MUSIC HUB, 1383 Ellis St, Kelowna, BC.

Kara lee was such an awesome woman. I remember there were years where we joked about how we were Living the same lives when our kids were younger. She was so caring and kind and I haven’t met a single person who knew her who said any different. I am thinking of you all as you go through such a difficult time.

We are shocked and deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Kara-Lee. It’s hard to find words to express feelings about a loss so untimely and terrible. I can’t imagine the hole left behind without your wife and the kids mom.
Kara-Lee was truly a kind and generous soul. She was so warm and positive. It’s been a few years since the last time we saw her at your place in Vancouver, but I remember she welcomed us into your home to make the transition to Vancouver easier, so we would know a few friends.

Our family has shared so many memories and stories of Kara-Lee this last week and a camera roll of thousands of photos of the Krahn/King kids over the last 15 years. KL was my closest friend for so many years. We chatted almost everyday when our kids were younger and times were a blur. We laughed and cried about the silliest things. She was that friend I share it all with. I loved her. There are no words to express how sorry we are that she has been taken from you. We will always be here for you/kids, to help, support and keep Kara-Lee’s memory alive.

While still stunned, we can start to smile now when we think of Kara-Lee. She really was an amazing mother, she loved her family beyond words. She was always thinking of the kids, planning playdates, sports dates, ski dates, etc. We were actually excited to start our own Moms Foursome this season as the boys were golfing on their own most of last. May Kara-Lee’s beautiful spirit always inspire positivity in her family and in all of us friends. She will be forever loved and remembered fondly.
