We Remember
KRAHN, Miles Herbert
December 4, 1958 — May 25, 2015
Miles passed away peacefully May 25, 2015 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Miles is survived by his wife Colleen, his children Mark (Andra), Brent (Colleen), Jessica (Justin) and stepsons Jeremy (Kim) and Joshua. Miles was a loving grandfather to Georgia, Owen, Conrad, Mitchell, Benjamin, Natalie and Sarah, and loving brother to Glen (Leslie) and Beverley (Carl).
Miles was born in Saskatoon on December 4th, 1958 to Herbert and Anne Krahn, living there until 1970 when the family moved to Vancouver. In 1972 the family relocated to Calgary where Miles completed high school at Dr. E.P. Scarlett and began his journey to become a successful innovator and entrepreneur. Miles began his career in construction with his father and brother in 1978. During this time he also co-owned and operated a chain of drapery stores with his family. In 1986 he combined his love for food and passion for cooking to launch a sophisticated production facility for his highly successful line of salad dressings. In 2001 Miles moved his family and Meadow Ridge Homes operations to Kelowna where he continued the family legacy of building quality custom homes. With Miles’s attention to detail and his drive for perfection, Meadow Ridge soon became one of Kelowna’s premier award winning homebuilders.
Miles’s passion was his business but his heart was always with family and friends. It was said upon his passing that Miles lived a 100-year life in his short 56 years on this earth. Miles was a proud father, devoted family man, a trusted and loyal friend to all, the original “foodie” and a world-class martini maker.
A celebration of Miles’s life will be held at 1PM, June 1st at the Evangel Church 3261 Gordon Drive Kelowna BC.

Our heart felt condolences to you Glen and your family, Bev and family. Miles from the time he was little, was a sweet loving boy, a smile with dimples that could melt any heart… He will be missed…
I first met Miles in 2003 when my wife, Kim Parkhill, and I visited her sister Kathy and partner Peter in Kelowna. Miles was one of their friends: a dynamic, outgoing person who clearly loved life and made friends easily. Kim and I greatly enjoyed his company.
We are saddened by Miles’ passing and offer our condolences to his loved ones. A bright light has been extinguished.
Our deepest condolences to all of the family.
Miles was an amazing man and good friend and will never be forgotten.RIP
I met Miles over 35 years ago when I lived with his cousin Sonya…Miles was such an awesome person, so kind, so friendly, I felt like I had known him for years. Over many years I had only seen Miles a few times, but will never forget his smile, and his wonderful disposition. I only regret I did not know him more. My condolences go out to his friends and family, ..we were all lucky to know Miles.
Our deepest condolences to the Krahn family. So sorry for your loss.
Our deepest condolences to all of Mile’s family. You will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.
Was shocked to read of the passing of my friend Miles. I am sad to have missed the funeral yesterday, and a chance to meet his children again, after so many years. I have many happy memories of good times spent with Miles and Sue, as neighbors in Canyon Meadows Estates. My very best to all of the family.
Those whom we love may go out of sight, but never out of heart and mind. Our deepest sympathies to Glen & Leslie, and the whole Krahn family.
My condolences go out to the Krahn family , Miles was a great guy who will be sadly missed
I have so many wonderful memories of Miles. I met him when I was in grade 8. We hung around all through high school and remained good friends. I knew I could call him any time and we could pick right up where we left off. I am deeply saddened that I will not hear his laugh, or see his face again, but my memories (along with tons of old pics) will keep him in my heart forever. My sincerest condolences to the entire Krahn family at this very sad time. xoxo
My thoughts are with your family , you will be dearly missed…I am so thankful for your advice over the years RIP
