We Remember
KRASNUIK, John
January 1, 1970 — January 1, 1970
John Krasnuik passed away peacefully at the age of 94, on January 27, 2013. He was born on November 29, 1918 in Stuartburn, MB. John spent his early years in Sundown, MB and married Nettie Evankevich; they married, worked their farm and raised nine children.
He retired in Kelowna, BC where he enjoyed his favourite activities; walking, riding his bicycle and going out to the forest to cut his own firewood. His garden was his pride and he loved to boast how he got the grand kids to pick the weeds; garlic and tomatoes became his specialty.
John was a “one of a kind man” who will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his children; George (Shirley), Sonja, Luba, Elizabeth (Tom), Russell (Melodie), Theresa, Marilyn (Roger), Elaine (Garry), his sister Helen Balla, 19 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his son Borden (1989), his wife Nettie (2006), his parents William (1959) and Anne (1979), brothers Peter, Jack, Steve, Nick, Alex, Mike and sisters Nellie, Mary, Francis, and Jean.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to all the nurses and staff at the Three Links Manor and Dr.Tara Sebulsky for their loving care and support of John. A celebration of life will be held in late June 2013 in Steinbach, MB.

Papa was a great provider and a great man .God bless
Grandpa taught me three things that I still use everyday when I went to visit him in Kelowna.
Eat cornmeal every day and you will be as strong as a bear.
Drink warm water after going for a run (Did this two tours in Afghanistan and it worked).
Never eat until you are full.
I will always remember this!
I remember your Dad with fondness Russell. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
Grandpa will be missed as a self reliant, optimistic well respected man. He gave everything and expected nothing in return. As such, he will be missed by all those who had the privilege to know him.
God speed and my blessings.
Hi Russ, sorry to hear of your Dad passing but what a nice long life he had. I remember him well when he was at the Mohawk Station when you and I worked at the Keg & Cleaver. Still walk by his house downtown as we don’t live far from there. All the best to you and your family at this time. John Mackay (Deacon)

I’m sad to hear that grandpa passed away. He was a wonderful man. If someone from the family could contact me when the actual date of this service is confirmed that would be appreciated, as I’d like to attend.
