We Remember
KRAUSE, MARTIN HANS
March 29, 1929 — June 19, 2013
It is with sorrow in our hearts that we announce the passing of our father, Martin Hans Krause at his home in Kelowna, B. C. on June 19, 2013. Our father was born on March 29, 1929 in Ohlau, Germany, son of Hans Hermann Ernst Krause and Maria (Christ) Krause; brother of Sabine Greiff, all of whom passed away before him.
He was a very energetic man with a strong, independent spirit, an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hiking, camping, boating and fishing and who had a deep love and appreciation for nature. He was a man of strong determination who lived by the strength of his convictions and beliefs. In times of trouble and uncertainty he was dependable and strong-willed in seeing it through.
Martin realized his dream of building his own house. He found serenity in his painting of landscapes and natural beauty. Some of his paintings are on display at the homes of friends and in public venues, and they remain a testament to his memory.
He is survived by our mother, Lissy (Hidriewicz) Krause of Ottawa, Ontario; his sons, Horst Krause and his wife, Carole of Ottawa, Ontario, and Wolfram Krause and his wife, Christine of Fulshear, Texas; four grandchildren: Jason Krause of Toronto, Ontario, Kristopher Krause of Ottawa, Ontario, Karl Krause of Aurora, Illinois, Heidemarie Krause of Parkersburg, West Virginia, and one great grandchild, Ava Savay Krause of Aurora, Illinois.
Last respects can be paid to our father at the viewing from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday June 25, 2013 Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, B. C.
All of us will keep him in our hearts always.
