We Remember
Kreklewetz, Ernie
—
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ernie Kreklewetz on May 31, 2012 at the age of 59, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Survived by “his girls,” wife and best friend of 35 years, Debbie; daughter, Kimberly (Ryan) of Ladysmith, BC; daughter Angela of Port Coquitlam, BC; and granddaughter, Kayley; his sisters Darlene and Dolly (Tim), and brothers Ted (Linda) and Rick (Charlene).
Predeceased by his parents, John and Margaret; father-in-law, Mel, and sister-in-law, Kristy.
Ernie, founder of Capri Mortgage Corporation, was well respected in business and known for his honesty and trustworthiness. In his personal life, he was a talented hockey player, making many “kick saves” with the Westside Grizzlies. He also enjoyed spending summer days riding his Harley with Debbie. Most importantly, Ernie was extremely dedicated to his family; would do anything for his girls, and was generous to all he encountered.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Central Okanagan Hospice House, 2035 Ethel Street Kelowna, BC V1Y 2Z6, which provided tremendous support and became a loving home for Ernie and his family on his final journey.
Debbie and daughters, I am so sorry for your loss. Having enjoyed working with Ernie over many years through Doak Shirreff, I came to know what a wonderful, kind and ever professional man he was. Please accept my personal condolences.
Our thoughts are with you during this difficult time. We send so much love, hugs and kisses to everyone.

Debbie, I never had the privilege to meet your husband Ernie but in the short time I got to know you at the hospice house while I was there with my mother, I was moved by your obvious love and affection for your husband. From my family to yours, know that you are in our thoughts.

Very sorry to hear of Ernie’s passing. First met him 20 years ago when I moved to Kelowna. We did many business deals over the years and he was a very respected professional in the financial services industry. Sincere condolences to the family.
