We Remember
KUCHER, Adam David
March 28, 2014 — January 6, 2018
With broken hearts, the Kucher family announces the sudden death of their son and brother Adam on January 6, 2018 at BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver.
Adam was born March 28, 2014 in Kelowna. He had multiple medical challenges and was not expected to survive past his first few months. He endured frequent visits to doctors, clinics and hospitals in Kelowna and Vancouver during his short 45 months on loan to us. Adam had a magical touch on all those who met him. It’s a better place since he came along.
Adam is survived by his loving parents: David and Becky Kucher; sister Nicole; grandparents: Brandon and Tamie Williams; Tamara Henwood; Uncle Zachary Williams; great grandparents: Sylvia Wiegand; Alan and Pauline Williams and many other relatives.
Adam also leaves behind his loving caregivers: Melanie and Paul Filiatrault; Jessica and Mertis; and many other extended family members who all knew and loved him.
The families are very grateful to the heroic efforts of the many paramedics and health professionals who cared for him, especially Dr. Mark Duncan and the trauma team at Kelowna General Hospital and Dr. Mary Bennett and the staff in the ICU at BC Children’s Hospital.
In addition, a special thanks to Adam’s pediatrician, Dr. Neelesh Ranchod, and his caring physiotherapists, Liza Burgess and Kim MacLeod.
There will be a funeral on Saturday, January 13, 2017 at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Conception Church at 839 Sutherland Avenue in Kelowna, BC.
Requiescat in Pace

Little Adam was such a star that through the stories of Papa and Gramma he was sending twinkles to people far and wide. I felt a love for him without ever meeting him. Peace Angel Adam and condolences to those who got to know him <3
Hi Kristin, We are grateful for your comforting note of condolence and very kind words.
Dear Paul, Melanie and Adam’s extended family: After my brother, who had Down Syndrome and lived with our mom and dad, passed away I remember the pastor saying to my mother and father, “You expect to lose a parent and you expect to lose a sibling, but you never expect to lose a child”. This is so true and so very sad. Please accept my condolences on your tragic loss of your little one.
Thank you for taking time to offer your condolences and tell the story about your brother.
