We Remember
KUEHN, Horst Karl “Peter”
January 19, 1938 — August 22, 2021
Peter Kuehn arrived in the Okanagan by train at the age of 18, drawn by stories of the Wild West. After a life full of love, happiness and accomplishment, 65 years later, we lay him to rest.
Peter will be remembered as a gentleman, a leader, a businessman and intensely loyal to family and friends. His push-hard/work-hard attitude, healthy living, zest for life, support for others, and loving smile are just a few of his strong ways.
Peter’s generous spirit and commitment to fight for what you want in life and what is right was not just for his own life achievements but for the greater good – for family and friends, the community, our country and global issues.
Some of Peter’s interests included ballroom dancing, gardening, travelling and languages. He loved to spend time with his little dog Max; he also loved being in the company of his family and friends mostly by entertaining, celebrating and sharing in good conversation.
He is survived by his children: Heidi, Michael, and Shawn. He was predeceased by his daughter Tabitha. He was fondly loved by his grandchildren Charm & Chase and his great-grandchildren Juliet & Matteo.
Peter will be close to our hearts forever and greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, please send your donations to Cops for Kids.

Please accept my sincerest condolences for the loss of our wonderful neighbour. We conversed many times (usually at the mailbox) and Peter always had Max along for some fresh air and exercise. He’s going to be missed by those that knew him. Regards Calvin
The last time I talked with Peter was a few weeks ago at his home. He showed me a few exercises to do at our age.. I’m so sorry to hear that he passed away. He was a kind gentle man who lived fully, and the memory of his dearly loved wife was never far from his soul. Rest in peace Peter, I most enjoyed our walks and exchanges through the years. I will miss you. John Turcot.
Peter and Max have been welcoming neighbours since we moved into the neighbourhood. They always stopped to visit on their walks along our street. We saw Peter and Max on Thursday the day before his episode and passing on Sunday. We will miss Peter.
Dear Heidi, Michael and family,
The sad news of your dads departure reached me while on vacation with the family in Duesseldorf. this week.
It is tragic to see that Peter followed his brother Arnold in such a short while.
I have fond memories of our get togethers over the decades at family reunions back home and am shocked to hear of him leaving us after having had a lively conversation with him just a few weeks ago..
I remember him as an always positive person with an eye on the challenges of today and tomorrow.
My thoughts are with you all at this difficult time.
Please accept my sincere sympathies and condolence’s.
