We Remember
KVIETINSKAS, Elli
—
1928 – 2020
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Elli, a caring wife, mother, and mother-in-law, on September 8, 2020. Elli was born in Zhitomir, Ukraine in 1928. She is lovingly remembered by her son Peter (Karen) Kvietinskas and her daughter Valorie O. (Rod) MacDonald. She also leaves to mourn, her niece, Valorie Grabar and family; her sister-in-law Janina Skarniene and family; her brother-in-law Kazis (Onute) Kvietinskas and family; as well as many friends in Kelowna and the Surrey area. Sadly, she was predeceased by Antanas “Tony” Kvietinskas, her loving husband.
Elli had many passions in life. She loved gardening and especially loved flowers for their colours and beautiful fragrances. She was a marvel at sewing and tailoring, she could take your measurements and two days later she would be finished with your new suit. She also excelled as a Hair Stylist, successfully owning and operating Elli’s Beauty Parlour in Estevan, SK. She even became an instructor in the craft in Surrey, BC. One of Elli’s favourite activities was boating and fishing with Tony. They spent many wonderful times on their boat accompanied by friends.
The family wishes to express their gratitude for the loving care given by the staff at the Central Okanagan Hospice House and Chatsworth Retirement Residence, and especially to Dr. Ronnald Schriemer.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elli’s memory to the BC Cancer Foundation, www.bccancer.bc.ca.
A Private Family Service will be held to honour Elli Kvietinskas with Reverend Patricia Giannelia officiating, interment to follow at Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery. The family would like to invite all who want to pay their respects to join by livestream on Monday, September 14, 2020 at 1:00 pm (see below).

From our hearts we are sending to you and your sister Val our deepest condolences for the loss of your sweet mother. Although she may not be with you physically, she will always remain with you both in your hearts and thoughts. She was someone very special who had the uncanny ability to touch each person she came across in her life. Such a gentle caring soul. Again, we are thinking of you all during this sad time.
