LALLI, Assa Singh
May 1, 1928 — November 13, 2020
Assa Singh Lalli was born in Lallian Khurd, on May 1, 1928, and he passed away at the age of 92 on November 13, 2020, in Kelowna BC. He was predeceased by his mother Dhan Kaur; father Prem Singh; and his four siblings: Sohan Singh, Naseeb Kaur, Isher Singh, and Charan Singh.
He is survived by his wife Gurmit Kaur and was happily married for 60 years. He is also survived by his two sisters, who he loved very much, Gurmaij Kaur and Charan Kaur. He was extremely loving and proud of his five children: Avtar Singh (Sukhvinder Kaur), Kulvinder Kaur (Amrik Singh), Malkit Singh (Palwinder Kaur), Harjinder Singh (Sandeep Kaur), and Gurvinder Singh (Ramandeep Kaur). He is survived by his fourteen grandchildren who he had immense love for: Chanprit Kaur, Daya Singh, Amrit Singh, Amolak Singh, Maninder Singh, Charanjot Singh, Avneet Kaur, Jorawar Singh, Chanveer Singh, Harsimran Kaur, Harsahib Singh, Sartaj Singh, Hukam Singh, and Ajit Singh.
Assa Singh arrived in Kelowna on August 22, 1994 and worked in orchards for 10 years. He loved going on walks, keeping up with current events, spending time with his family, and reminiscing about his youth and how hard he worked. He would talk about his siblings and family often. He was very knowledgeable about Sikh history (Kvishri) and loved to share the stories with his children while they worked together in the fields.
His life was filled with love and hard work. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
A Funeral Service will be held to honour Assa Singh Lalli, due to COVID-19 restrictions it is invitation only. However, all are welcome to join the online Livestream at 11:00 am on Sunday, November 22, 2020 (see below).
