We Remember
LANGILL, Norman Earl
January 3, 1928 — March 25, 2024
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Norman Earl Langill at the age of 96. Norman passed away peacefully at his home in Kelowna surrounded by his family on March 25, 2024.
Norman, though born in Regina, Saskatchewan, spent his formative years on a farm in Vantage, Saskatchewan, as the second youngest among his 13 siblings. In 1950, he exchanged vows with his beloved Janet, embarking on a journey that led them to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, where Norman established himself as a dedicated steam engineer, ultimately serving as the chief engineer at Providence Hospital.
Upon retirement, Norman and Janet found solace in the tranquility of Buffalo Pound Lake and Mesa, eventually settling in the picturesque surroundings of Kelowna for the past 29 years.
Norman leaves behind a legacy of love cherished by his wife of 74 years, Janet; children, Donald (Sue), Robin (Yin), Gail (Terry), Kelly (Natalie), Tim (Hana), and Nola (Vic); 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Father Gerald, Dr. Schriemer, and the Palliative Care team for their compassionate care and support during Norman’s final days.
A Funeral Mass to honour Norman’s memory will be held on THURSDAY, JULY 18, 2024, at 11:00 AM (PDT), at ST. CHARLES GARNIER PARISH: 3645 Benvoulin Rd, Kelowna, BC.
